GODZILLA MINUS ONE Will Make You Cry (Movie Reaction)
Ойын-сауық
My first time watching Godzilla Minus One. I wish I knew it was called Atomic Breath... accurate af! We don't usually do movie reaction videos on the channel, but made an exception for this. Feel like I had tears for the entirety of Act 2. Just a beautiful movie in every aspect. Thanks for watching :)

20:26 34:25 During the movie, the news casters who were giving live coverage of Godzilla's attack are a homage to the first Godzilla movie, but the live recordings they risked their lives for were later used as loudspeakers to summon Godzilla, so their deaths were not in vain. The location is also a well-made part of this movie.
Seeing how one blast from Godzilla's atomic breath could cause so much damage. Is so unbelievable, it left me speechless.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think this is even better than the original 1954 Godzilla film.
One of the best movies I ever seen.
Anyone who watches this film and doesn't cry is scarier than Godzilla😨
Went into the theaters with high expectations given the reviews, and I left damn near speechless. Easily a top 3 film for me last year and might be a top 10 film I've seen in the theaters this past decade. Such a bittersweet ending that Noriko survives but is infected. A fate worse than death. But then again our MC found peace.
I'm impressed no matter how many times I watch it.❤
Noriko is infected with Godzilla cells. Look at the ending scene again.
Koichi's screams after Noriko's death get me everytime, man. Instant goosebumps. Truly hated Godzilla in this film.
That ending, when all the sound and music cut out and you just see everyone's reaction as it's happening, that hit me hard.
every time I see Koichi seeing the "specially made" boat for dealing with mines for the first time, I'm reminded of Star Wars; the first time Luke sees the Millenium Falcon and the conversation starts: Koichi: "What a piece of junk!" boat captain Akitsu: "I know it doesn't look like much, but she's got it where it counts..."
The sad thing is, that even if he had shot Godzilla on the island, the filmmaker has said that it sill wouldn't have made a difference. Godzilla's regeneration was natural to it even before mutating, which is how he survived the nuke.
I'm glad that someone with a kind heart like you watched this movie.
The destroyer Yukikaze, which was used in the operation to ensure no one died, survived without being damaged despite participating in many battles in the Pacific War.
Only the original godzilla theme already made this movie better than any American version.
At 5:33 you are correct. All that destruction was from the war. At 35:32 the answer is yes. Godzilla was killed in the orignal 1954/1956 movie & in the 1998 movie (not every Godzilla fan considers the 1998 movie to be a true Godzilla movie) & again in the 1995 movie "Godzilla vs Destoroyah". As for "Godzilla: Minus One", I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. It's nothing short of an absolute masterpiece in film making & story telling.
Tachibana's relief hearing that Shikishima survived is just so gutwrenchingly good I still get tears and I've seen it like 10 times by now through various reactions Such a damn good movie
Such an unexpected gem of a film. Koichi is a special kind of hero. I’ve never seen a human character who is so perfectly Godzilla’s opposite in every conceivable way: it’s literally day and night, air and water, outcast and king, man and beast, stone-cold fear and white-hot rage.
I think godzilla was in no hurry following the ship, i believe he was just toying with them like a cat playing with a mouse before killing it

Godzilla hates humanity and his only goal was pure revenge. Beforehand, he seemed to have some contempt for them and only attacked when he was provoked into doing so. Kind of like how Jason does whenever people keep coming to Camp Crystal Lake. It’s like an animal protecting their territory. But once he mutated and transformed into his famous form, his contempt for humanity turned into outright hatred and misanthropic. It’s implied that he blames them for why he turned into such a creature. That’s why he seems so outlandishly destructive, perhaps even moreso than his original 1950’s counterpart. This is probably the most angry and pissed I’ve ever seen him. So basically… it’s kind of Oppenheimer’s fault lol.
It was so worth seeing this movie in theaters! It was such a surreal experience ❤ definitely one of if not the best Godzilla movie I have ever seen in my life! This movie a so deserved the Oscar!! Godzilla is the scariest he’s ever been and the characters are so incredible! The action is intense and amazing! I love your reaction so much! Thank you for watching this masterpiece!!✨♥️😊
Godzilla is pure evil. I cried at the end. War is depressing. I'm glad she survived at the end. But now has radiation poisoning. Minus one took it to the next level.
GOD MOVIE! i almost cry twice, men the destruction in this movie is another level
This is by far the best Godzilla I have watched. Hollywood needs to take note
Amazing reaction if I had Godzilla film getting tears from me and caring about the human characters on my bingo card I would've won the lottery by now in KY opinion this film should've at least been nominated for best picture and director
Big G's lore for the last many decades has him as a dinosaur living on a remote Japanese island during WW2. The later nuke experiments mutated him into a giant monster. And yes, he always had regen abilities. You might want to watch the original Godzilla from 1954, and also Shin Godzilla. Both perfect movies.
The job of a Japanese Kamikaze pilot was to fire their ordinance then literally crash their plane into the target as well. They were the original s-word bombers. He didn't want to die, he'd promised his mother he'd come home, so he landed on the island claiming troubles with his plane. It was something horrendously "dishonorable" in the culture at the time to not do his duty.
Hi! So as a Godzilla fan, what makes him stand out from other Kaijus is that Godzilla could be a dinosaur that was reawaken or evolved from the radiation when the bombing in Japan happened. His looks is suppose to resemble that of the burned victims from that bombing and of course his atomic breath (heat wave) is proof of that. His first movie was a representation of the Bombing and devastation that occurred. Although they expanded and went through crazier routes with Godzilla films, this film serves as a SOFT remake of what the very first film in 1954 was suppose to be and thats what makes this movie very well loved. As for this time era, if u were a kamikaze, you HAVE to die for ur country becuz it was more honorable. If u come back alive while many others died, you be discriminated.
You take out godzilla from this movie and you still got a great drama. thats how good it is. god damn, kudos to the guys. They made a great Godzilla film with 1/10th of the budget of Legendary/WB.
If u see her neck at the end she has Godzilla DNA which made her survive
Minus one Godzilla is comparable to 2001 GMK Godzilla for being one of the evil Godzilla. That literally goes after humans. And both GMK Godzilla and Minus One Godzilla's Atomic Breath can cause nuke-like explosions. Minus One Godzilla is 50.1 meter tall, Monsterverse is 120 meters tall. Many incarnations of Godzilla have regeneration like Heisei, Millennium, Shin Godzilla, Godzilla Earth, Godzilla Ultima. Even Monsterverse has regeneration, some are very fast like Minus One while others are slower, plus we do see it happened openly onscreen Minus One is one ofnthe few times we see it openly.

Before mutation this Godzilla only attacked after humans shot at him. But after the bomb test his body was hideously burned as well as mutated. Godzilla is in constant pain, and it blames humans for what happened to it. That's why it attacks. There's a line in the trailer that didn't make it into the movie, that sums up that reality: "That monster will never forgive us."
Yeah if you freeze it you can actually see Kōichi eject just a few frames before the plane hits Godzilla.
Its a japanese movie, so it totally fits on the channel. Hell yeah
bro .. the random insert shots from movies in between your reactions are freaking hilarious. Pls dont stop doing that 😆
Minus One is a SPECTACULAR film!!! Easily one of the best Godzilla movies of all time I really like the Godzilla from Legendary's Monsterverse (Hollywood's take that "saved" Toho from bankruptcy in turn making them confident enough to make Shin and Minus One if I remember correctly) and think they did a really good job with the first 2. King of the Monsters is my 2nd favorite of the recent movies, and the Vs Kong and the recent G+K one to me aren't quite as good but still a lot of fun. Shin Godzilla was a weird trip, thanks to the Evengellion creators directing it. It would have been, or could be cool to see more of it with the weird designs they had in the art book.
Fun fact: Godzilla has two brains (for the two bombs dropped on Japan). Shikishima destroyed the one in his skull, but the one at the base of his spine survived. And so...

Atomic breath level comment, thank you
"Godzilla Minus One" is a life-affirming film centered on a kamikaze pilot as its lead. Despite expectations for him to perish in the war, he defied his fate, prompted by his parents' heartfelt plea for his safe return. Similarly, Noriko's survival of Godzilla's heat ray blast parallels Shikishima's narrative. She vowed to live on for her deceased parents, albeit infused with Godzilla's radiation G-cells. Each time Godzilla unleashes his devastating heat ray, his physical form deteriorates, with his burning skin disintegrating into the air. Consequently, Noriko may not be the sole survivor of the Ginza attack; anyone sheltered by the kaiju's shadow and exposed to its particles could have survived. Noriko and these other affected individuals could play significant roles in a sequel if Toho opts to pursue this storyline, departing from their usual standalone Godzilla films.
Why is Godzilla able to regenerate so quickly? My guess is that Godzilla also damages his own body after emitting heat rays. You can confirm that from the video. In short, his body was constantly damaged by the radioactivity in his body, and his survival instinct gave him the ability to quickly regenerate.
"Oh my God! Eat so much shit, Godzilla!" 😂 38:34
Did you notice what's on her neck. If you have not seen it you need to watch the original 1954 black n white Godzilla film.
I'm a lifelong Godzilla fan. I got into it when I was 7 with my best friend at the time. My local library had a ton of them on vhs just available to borrow for free. Coolest library ever. We watched the shit out of those movies. I saw this movie in theaters (black and white) with that same friend and we're now 40 lol. We were just as hyped throughout the whole thing
Tsukishima, who was exposed to Godzilla's radiation close by, and the black Godzilla cells crawling up her neck in the hospital scene, this is not a happy ending!
Godzilla never die .
Fantastic movie. Great action and an even greater story-line.

Not sure how accurate this was but this was rated best movie of the year but because it was made in Japan they didn’t count it and barbey won movie of the year lol
37:41 "Brace yourself! Accept death! Give the order!" is closer to the Japanese "腹をくくれ!" than just "Give the order!"
3:34 This was a first, where you see Godzilla deliberately looking at humans with the intention, "I'm gonna f**k you up."
No the ejection wasn’t there before, the lead mechanic added to the airplane for him to come back for his future. Yes, I cried as well. Please also check the seven minutes ending theme, it’s so beautiful composition. It made the movie so perfect.

Did you see the mark at Norikos neck in 44:21?
It's a beautiful film
44:17 i'm surprised you didn't notice the black mark on her neck. Apparently, the director said that that was Godzilla cells 44:48 they tried killing them off with the oxygen destroyer and that didn't work. He literally went to hell in the comics and he came back out alive, kicking everyone's ass of course. And he defeated Zeus..... Godzilla is a bona fide God slayer and true immortal
23:08 His goal is revenge Humans invaded his territory and shot him, and even involved him in a nuclear test.
I wonder what was on Noriko's neck in the ending? Was that the reason why she survived, or some kind of infection maybe? Idk

35:33 Yes in toho old godzilla movies (Not counting Shin godzilla)
Yeah Godzilla will return to fight another monsters. .
I keep commenting this to people, but the whole budget of the film was 10-12 million dollars. In contrast, She-Hulk had the budget of 25 million PER EPISODE. Minus One looks phenomenal for the time and money they had.
I believe Godzilla has died a total of 4 times in movies, if I remember correctly, outside of this movie at least.
The way Godzilla had his head on top of the water during the chase after the mine explosion was similar to a crocodile that looks on top of the water as the crocodile watches for food
If you ever get slightly bored reacting to strictly anime or tv shows in general i would love some movie reaction comtent like this whether its animated films or not.
5:36 That isn't GOZILA. Just "The Bombing of Tokyo" (東京大空襲, Tōkyōdaikūshū).This attack was a series of bombing air raids launched by the United States Army Air Forces during World War II.
Pacific Rim is legendary bro. That theme is badass. Part 2 not so much

I'm Japanese and I'm not good at English, but after watching your video I learned that the Americans who used nuclear bombs are the most ignorant people in the world about nuclear weapons. Shikishima was exposed to black rain due to the huge explosion caused by the beam of light released by Godzilla. Because black rain contains large amounts of radioactivity, people who are directly exposed to this rain suffer from acute radiation injuries such as hair loss, heavy bleeding from the gums, bloody stools, and massive hematemesis caused by acute leukemia. Noriko was infected with Godzilla cells, but Shikishima's life was also in danger. Godzilla killed 30,000 people, but this number is likely to be much higher. That's what this story is about.
44:40 When he realizes the GOD in Godzilla.
Mr.Tachibana、いい味出してるなぁ😂
Godzilla Minus One may be considered evil to humans, but can you blame him? Considering he was mutated by an Atomic Bomb?
35:32 yeah, Godzilla has died in 3 separate films before this one.

Kamikaze pilots were actually volunteers. They went through a ceremony to swear an oath to die for their country. Shikishima's neighbor didn't actually believe he personally could have saved her family. He just symbolized all those who failed to protect Japan and "allowed" that ruin to come to them. She spoke out of grief.
@mfuji931

Kamikaze pilots were not always volunteers. My great uncle was drafted into a kamikaze squadron when he was still a student in college. He wanted no part in the war but once drafted, felt he had no choice but to accept it. The extreme warrior culture at the time didn't help that decision either. Edit: Almost forgot to mention that the boys in his class were drafted along with him. So him and his friends were put in a squadron together once they began training.
ooof 18 years commitment just like that
