This movie deserves to win an Oscar in the Best Foreign Movie category. I hope it's nominated and I hope it wins.

This movie is a proof that no matter how goofy the concept, if you put love and creativeness (and a good human story) in it, you can give it a "Dark Knight" treatment. "Godzilla Minus One" IS the "Dark Knight" of the series.

Amazing! That's exactly what it is. He does not blink. His eyes don't move. There is a reason for that.

I am commenting on the Japanese through a translation site. I think Godzilla is a mirror of Shikishima's mind. There is a monologue in the work in which Shikishima says, "He will never forgive me," but it is a monster that his anxiety and fear have given form to, and that is why it always appears before him. That is how the story is structured. But when he goes to the meeting to defeat Gojira, he finds that all the other returning soldiers have the same fears and anxieties. This is where he becomes a real presence all at once, and the operation to physically defeat Godzilla begins, changing both the look in Shikishima's eyes and the atmosphere of the film. I thought it was brilliant because it clearly expressed the anxiety and fear people feel m and its resolution.

I saw the movie last sunday evening. I will say Minus one is a masterpiece! Everyone cheer up at the ending credits in my theater❤🎉. To me, it's the best godzilla movie since Godzilla came back in silver screens in 2014! It won't beat the 1954 movie, but ALMOST to be equal. it's the second best in the whole godzilla cinematography history. 🦖

I absolutely loved it as well and it's definitely going on my top ten! It amazed me how good everything looked on a 15-30m dollar budget, hollywood should take notes haha. Yeah it bugged me that the trailer line wasn't in the film as well I also think they should have shown the Americans reaction to him in the film instead of just brief stock footage of Douglas Mcarthur but I see that the director wanted to keep it focused on the small group of characters. In one part of the English subs I had at my theater the doctor character said that Godzilla made Japan his territory. That plus getting burned/scared and mutated must have been his motivation for being so aggressive I think. Great review man!

I think Godzilla is an animal and has a "territory." I thought Godzilla's eyes looked just like a lion or a tiger. I will express the content of this movie in one line. [Main character]...My war isn't over yet! [Heroine]...Is your war over?

Yeah that "territory" line came back in my memory after i made the Video 😅

I saw it today and loved it!! Mine had the original Japanese with English subtitles so the dialogue was fine on my end. EDIT: In my version, his motivation was never explained.
