He cares about humanity, any damages he causes to human lives is just the natural consequence of him doing his job as both an Alpha Predator and the King of the Monsters, when dealing with other threatening Titans, Godzilla just can’t afford to watch where he steps, but when he isn’t fighting or being threatened, Godzilla is careful not to destroy everything around, same goes for Kong, even went out of his way to leave and then come back to Rome through the canal rather than straight through the city, he could choose anywhere in the world to rest, but instead he chooses to live in places that were specifically built for him by humans, he probably thinks the Coliseum was built specifically for him as a new nest.

In in the 2014 Godzilla movie he was shown to actively do his best to avoid any unnecessary damage if he can avoid it, he smart to not endanger humans if possible. Also yes I love that he decided to make the Colosseum his new home to rest while awaiting the need to protect the planet from it's next incoming threat.

Honestly these are some of my favorite scenes from the entire franchise. This Goji is so consistently serious that when a lighthearted moment comes along that makes perfect sense, as in familiar surroundings, it is especially satisfying. Enjoying a well earned rest in a comfortable place is something we all can appreciate. Things like this is why I read film novelizations.

This is simultaneously the most badass and the most wholesome Godzilla's ever been in a single movie.

If they didn't distroy his home in the "king of monsters " he'd probably be there 😂😂😂

I just love that he uses the Tiber river when he is moving in and out, as to not destroy the city built around his nest. Truly shows that he adores Rome as a city.

1:30 I like the gentle roar he does to the helicopter. Its like a polite "f*ck off" or just an "excuse me".

I really love how he specifically walked in the river to avoid causing more damage. Also the fact how he gave a slight roar to the helicopter getting close, a little "Fuck off, you're annoying me."
