I really liked how during the credits they pay repespects go Godzilla's suit actors who passed away, it shows that the movie had heart behind it and that It actually cared for the franchise and those who had a hand in it's creation

You missed an Easter Egg with the very opening of the movie. As the opening logos roll in, you hear Godzilla's thundering footsteps in the distance, followed by his OG classic roar. This is also how the original 1954 movie began.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE. I hope the filmmakers and studio doesn’t let the critics dictate the future of this universe because we have a lot of people who really enjoyed this movie. Some of my favorite parts of the film was whenever there was a comparison between the monsters and the humans - it was terrifying. I mean, you can feel the “gods among us” in the screen. Being chased by Gidora down the road was like a highway to Hell and realizing you want out. I also loved the fact that the monsters had so much personality. Even Rodan smiled when he started enjoying terrorizing the pilots. Godzilla was such a benevolent king. Terrifying and triumphant.

Sure, about $48 million worth of people liked it in the US, and while it topped it's opening weekend, it was pretty narrow victory, though well below projections, with Aladdin getting $42 million in it's second weekend. While the Godzilla/Kong sequel is already in the works for release next year, you're already looking a diminishing returned for this franchise, since King of the Monsters opened to a little more than half of the 2014 Godzilla's $93 million.

I was really impressed at how many easter eggs and references there were in this film. Michael Dougherty has been said to be a huge Godzilla fan, and you can really tell how much love was put in this film based on all of the deep cuts to classic Godzilla lore.

I know right? All the lighting and glowing was ON POINT! The various internal glows like Godzilla, Gidora and his lightning, Mothra, and Rodan.... they all looked different and unique but equally amazing. They could've felt very... "samey" with all the similarities in the glowing, rumbling and growling, but they felt distinct and unique. I think they did a perfect job!

One of the scenes showed a newspaper article that said "What is a King to a God?"

Two things you potentially missed. The oxygen destroyer was originally how Destroyah was created--as a mutated form of crustacean. I think we could see Destroyah as Thanos equivalent in the future movies. Additionally, there was the point about Kaiju creating radioactive plant life. This again could be a set up for another Kaiju, Biolante in this case.

I loved it... I watched the original movies in the 70's which were from the 60's. I also saw 1984 version... 2014 and this one was great!!!!

Favorite moment: the scene when fire rodan busts out if the volcano and wreaks havoc. That sonic boom sky shoot was amazing, especially the corkscrew he did

Calling it now, I think the main antagonist is going to be Bagan, not Mecha King Ghidorah. I don't see how a terrorist cell will be able to outfit a regenerating Titan with the biomechanical enhancements of Mecha King Ghidorah (in a way that makes sense in the context of the movie series). The monster will be created as a result of King Ghidorah's cells regenerating and interacting with the inevitable Godzilla cells on the severed head. There is a lot they could do with Bagan, as he's been scrapped from numerous movies and projects since the '80s. Not sure about the potential issue with rights, though. Maybe Toho has the rights to Bagan and they may not willingly give those up. Alternatively, maybe they'll do a newer adaptation of Monster X/Keizer Ghidorah with the severed head. They haven't really done much fan service for the Millennium series yet. Also still unsure what will happen regarding the Oxygen Destroyer as a potential plot device. It feels like a Destoroyah-type creature is kind of inevitable, but again, I don't think Toho has given rights to more of their monsters beyond the main four in KotM. That might change eventually, though. Maybe none of this will even be touched on in Godzilla vs. Kong and it'll all be reserved for a potential "Godzilla 3."

You were close! But it always had to be MechaGodzilla. At least at first. While Ghidorah is absolutely Godzilla's arch enemy, MechaGodzilla is, without question, Godzilla's toughest opponent. And probably one of his most known opponents too.

The effect the bomb had on the environment was dramatic killing all life expect a small insectoid creatures. This creature would mutate, multiply into a swarm of ten high creatures eventually they group up and mutate into Destroya.

You missed the Masser Cannon on the Castle Bravo. The most common weapon used by the JSDF againts godzilla and other kaiju, and castle bravo is one of the several US thermonuclear bomb test in the pacific ocean "Arm the Masser Cannon" "Masser Cannon armed"

Dr. Chen being a twin is not just a reference to the Shobijin of Mothra lore - the director has confirmed that Dr. Chen and Dr. Ling actually ARE the Shobijin of the Monsterverse.

My favorite part is when Godzilla rises the ocean after being supercharged with a nuclear blast. Also, a detail you missed is that in the original Toho films Destoroyah was created by the oxygen destroyer. So, that monster might make an appearance in a later film.

Possibly another threat is rising in Skull Island, maybe it's a huge Skull Crawlers and when Godzilla is on his way to Skull Island Kong will misunderstand Godzilla's intention.

There is a third possibility for a sequel. The oxygen destroyer may create Destroyah.

10:45 so if this happens, they’d basically be recreating the Batman VS Superman final battle

Even if kong grew to the same size, how is he going to kill godzilla when a nuke to the face didn't even scratch him..... kong gets cut by the rotary blade on a helicopter and godzilla literally melts his surrounding when he goes critical. Just one atomic breath will be deadly.

Pierce Abbitt Godzilla need a nuke to wake up and charge up, i doubt that Godzilla can use the fire nuclear power all the time. Kong Will be around 300 ft if im correct. Kong is stronger and is faster, he can use tools. Godzilla vs Kong isn’t as onesided as you guys think

In the end credits, I saw that the titans go beneath the Skull Island for rehab?

You should've also talked about hiw the TITANS are helping Earth

the pocket watch is also the same watch from the characters father who died to save him from the first titan they ran into

Super ChaseYT lol true that, plus I’ve also been seeing theories thinking that homeboy who found Ghidorahs head might genetically engineer Destroyah from it instead of making Mecha king Ghidorah, so theres definitely a ton of shit that can go down in Godzilla vs Kong, I’m curious to see what they’ll actually end up going with tho lol

and birth of 'Destoroyah' ~ since that Oxygen Destroyer is the culprit of the mutate some crabs and lobsters to become Destoroyah's parts... thats why the name is 'destoroyah' since it takes names from the bomb that mutate it.

A scene in skull island said kong wasn't full grown.

The idea that king ghidorah represents China’s rising threat to Japan is an incorrect. He is merely and updated take on Yamato no Orochi, the mythical 8 headed dragon in Japanese folklore

@@paranoidise6458 this is different. Ishiro Honda (or Tanaka) stated that no, Ghdorah does not represent China.

I love that the twins of the universe are perpetuated generation after generation. It fits b/c Mothra does the same. I love the dedication of the film. I was over the moon to see Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and Gidorah as themselves in the cast credits.

Favorite phrase from the movie "He's either coming for Food, a Fight or a F......something more intimate." LOL!

The movie was AWESOME. I don't know why it's not blowing out the box office right now. Best ever monster movie I've ever seen so far. Second is Skull Island.

It was funny seeing themselves in the credit to the point I joked on how they were paid and how they actually are

My favourite scene has to be this video where you pronounced destroyah as destroya-ha. That really cracked me up XD Also Serizawa's watch is the same one he took out from Godzilla 2014, a memento from (I think) his dad who survived the Hiroshima bomb.

Don't forget that the final battle with Godzilla and the 3 headed dragon took place not only in Boston but started at Fenway Park. Also known to have the "green monster" as a wall in that stadium.

@@donhighbaugh9593 In Boston, Fenway Park baseball stadium has a wall nicknamed the green monster because its height at 37 feet. Its just an easter egg i noticed that where the final battle takes place. Not sure if Godzilla is exactly green or a mixture of dark greens. Since the wall is a monster and green, i thought they might've set the battle there of all places to kinda connect Godzilla with it only by descriptive title.

KoM was so underrated!!! Watching it at a 4k theater was the best movie experience of my life, it felt like riding a roller coaster!!

monster zero is a reference to invasion of the astro monsters, a.k.a. godzilla vs. monster zero, where the aliens of planet x identify everything with numbers...in this case, ghidorah is referred to as monster zero.

Great video! I think the Flying Argo was a nod to the flying ship in Destroy All Monsters, maybe the SHIELD flying aircraft carrier. Thank you! sfw

Was i the only one that got the biblical refrence of gidora beeing the devil. how it fell from the heavens the 3 headed dragon and when it called the other demons followed how is this missed.

You didnt mention this but he Castle bravo outpost was called outpost 54. 1954. Gojira. Ring any bells?

Outpost 56 was a reference to when the movie Rodan was released in 1956. wasn't the outpost Isle DeMar

I don't know how most of you watched Kong, but it was mentioned loud and clear, that Kong was just a kid, and he will grow larger.

I don't know what people were expecting from this movie other than giant monsters fighting each other.

Anyone else notice millie Bobby Brown's dad in the movies house is the same house of Tony stark in endgame
