Crazy, I didn't realize that because I started to watch the UFC much later than Final Wars. They probably met him because he was so big in Pride(and popular). He was an absolute beast.

I originally wanted a more serious (less 70’s) film for Final Wars. I 100% appreciate it more now than then. BUT this entire concept has the potential to be the biggest and most epic Godzilla film of all time- but I’m suggesting it be done with a longer run time and with less camp. Nothing would make me happier than Legendary focusing on an “MCU” like approach to the Monsterverse. Things should culminate in a huge film with a lot of Kaiju/Titans. And to pay homage to the source material- make it “Destroy All Monsters”, but fuse in the Destroyah narrative. It’s literally the perfect way to end the Monsterverse.

Cool seeing kids still living Godzilla... as someone who grew up in the 90's Godzilla was one of my favorite things along with Power Rangers(of course I loved the Green Ranger and his DragonZord) I even ordered the Heisei era ones from Japan because they weren't released in the US at the point. The director said that he liked the 1970s Showa era films more than the Godzilla films that came in the 1970s and throughout the 2000s so he wanted to make a movie that was similar to his favoured Showa Era.
