Behold, one of the rare interviews given under the Godspeed You! Black Emperor name. And it's with a fucking puppet.

Efrim being nice to a puppet the way you would to a child and giving a surprisingly unguarded interview is actually really sweet.

"We haven't played with her, yet. But i'm sure someday." ABSOLUTE GOLD. Historical GY!BE moment. I don't know what came through my mind when i decided to look again at that video while heavily blinded by The Light but it got me dead laughing.
"Yay" I love the enthusiasm in Efrim's voice 😂
Efrim is a sweaty dude.
Best. Interview. Ever. [2]

It only took me like 7 years to find this and ive been playing them since 2001?
When I first heard about them like two decades ago it was mind-blowing. Those mp3`s coming into my disk was like heaven into my veins. Then I listened to them a lot. I tried to look for some videos, interview, anything of them and didn`t even get a clear .jpg image of the band. So I`ve listened to Yanqui, Lift Your Skinny and F# for a lot of years and gave up trying to look for video media. Allelujah album came but since this album I did not stick much with the band cuz it sounded so different from the past albums. BUT, this band was always in my heart since "Sleep" tune which totally changed my way of listen to any type of music. THIS, is the first interview and actually clear picture I see of them, even so I listen to them for like two decades. AND WITH A PUPPET AND ROCKET FALLS DANCING what the hell! grand
This is possibly the best thing I've ever seen.
Props to the funny ginger kid at the end.
I just layed eyes upon true wierdness.
This band is new to me, and this interview just made them more awesome!

Gold. Pure gold. I don't even.
I really hate how they play the least danceable section of rocket falls on rocket falls. like seriously the whole song is mostly a waltz that you could actually probably dance to and they play the experimental interlude with the very slow beat.
"Are you sure we should be giving these kids shrooms?"

I love how dome depressing, melancholic, memory-inducing post-rock band ends up on a kids show, crazy
What a time to be alive, this is great
4:37 the ginger on the right gets it... all the rest of the dancers are being try-hards
This is the BEST Godspeed Interview EVEREVEREVER!!! Laughing for days...
do you have any advice on hygiene, dancing or botany?
That ending ... Priceless
Holy cow this is amazing.
Hahaha. Thank you Elfrim, that was brilliant!
EPIC DANCE!
This is the best vid on the whole internet! 😁 Especially dancing part 😉

Glorious
I'm suspicious that the reason he said RFORF for which song to dance to was because Pitchfork was one of few publications that gave Yanqui U.X.O. a bad reception
This showed me another side of Godspeed I haven't seen before!
I can't believe how awesome that was haha
Can anyone else see this video? Am I just hallucinating this?

2:12 No way. Nooooo weeeey.

I spoke to Efrim very briefly after a show a couple of years ago and his energy level was a wee bit lower than this.
Genius at 1:05 . So much metaphorical insight. It's hilarious. I love this.

Search youtube for "what's wrong with the arcade fire" and it's an audio interview with Efrim :)
The dancing at the end apsolutely killed me.
Call me maybe Moya!!
When you dance to Rockets Fall on Rocket Falls you are Godzilla dancing into Tokyo.
That ending gives me Tim and Eric vibes
the dance is so cool! gy!be for world order!!!!
"Yeah yeah"
godspeed you! Efrim
HOPE
You know GY!BE is different when one of the very few interviews they have is a 4 minute fever dream where Efrim talks to a puppet and answers to questions like "is punctuation important?" with children dancing akwardly to the most undanceable and inappropriate song for a kids' show, making it seem like a sort of obscure propagandistic footage. Pure gold
geez! that's so hilarious
That's hilarious!!!!
any full length vid for their performance at the end?
what the fuck was that ending
Lol'd at the last bit.
The adults tryna get the kids to be "creative" to a fucking dirge ☺
Amazing interview. Anyone know where we can watch the rest of the dance off?
I love how that ginger haired kid with the glasses is just standing there like, "What am I doing with my life?"
That's pretty cute allright.
I wish we could see the kids dance to the heavy parts
@chicagogo - Will you ever publish the whole rocket falls dancing video, or was it just an snippet where the parents got the kiddies to dance for a minute or two?
Should have gone with The Dead Flag Blues Outro
There's no way you can dance on Rockets fall on rocket falls. You must turn off the light and turn on the night lite lamp, lay on a bed and smoke some pot while listening all alone.
I like the part where they danced.
I was at a Flea Market a couple of weeks ago and most of the people there appeared to act and behave as the people in the dance segment. I live in a strange town...😕
