So happy to see Godfrey with a platform that he can really share his knowledge and humor on❤ Also Chris gave the response he was entitled to give the last word belonged to him. You can’t wrong someone and then dictate how they should react.
Maybe it didn't sound like his "voice" because he has never been slapped on national television on purpose. I think he handled it perfectly and he gave the public what they wanted at the end, which was VERY gracious of him.

5:00 YES. I totally agree with the gay dude. He is spot-on correct. There is a difference between the shows that you do for your friends and the million-dollar shows. The expectations are definitely different too. I have no idea what Dante was talking about, Rock was simply showing us his versatility. He can hit that stage in a variety of different Acts. Just presenting one style and delivery doesn't invalidate the other either. Also Dante doesn't seem to understand, The Slap brought out that old Chris Rock and that is this emotional backstop.
What are you guys talking about? The man was assaulted live on TV while at work by one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. He didn't sue or have Will arrested and is likely traumatized. @@ryderlane702 No, that's only YOUR opinion the majority of people DID NOT LIKE THE SHOW. So speak for yourself.
You guys are speaking of Chris retaliation against Will that night physically… I APPLAUD Chris For Being A A GROWN ASS MAN, A PROFESSIONAL AND A THINKING ON HIS FEET. He Thought About THE BIG PICTURE!!! It INCLUDED HIS FAMILY, HIS CULTURE AND HIS CAREER… BRILLIANCE UNDER PRESSURE!!! YASSSSS 💯💯💯‼️‼️‼️# TEAM CHRIS🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽♥️♥️♥️🦋
This is where one has to understand history. WS had an abusive father and so he wasn't really raised by his father, so it might have been a comment leveled directly to Will. Will knew CR also was severely bullied throughout high school, so the slap took him right back.
Chris Rock has a style not a character…and frankly I love his style
Yo Chris knocked that shyt out fr and he knocked it out in one take 👌🏾
I get Dante’s point, and it’s a good one! I’m happy with any Chris Rock I can get.
And the timing of the special was perfect. Like how can you not like this special? Like it was for the culture
Man rock bodied that joint it was funny as hell and truthful
I enjoyed the special man. Having seen him over time, it was great to see him and great to see how he rolled out his feelings on "the slap". Kept me up, I set aside time for this one. That's Rock.

Where can I find this whole episode?
Rocks stand-up special was funny. There's no precedent for it, and he pulled it off successfully. TAMBOURINE was years in the making, Selective Outrage was created in under a year.
What character voice is Dante talking about? I mean, that's how Chris talks! I didn't notice any changes or am I tripping?

Chris Rock wasn't as light and fun as he usually on that Netflix performance because of the heaviness of what he felt he had to share. He was reclaiming his masculinity out there and so he had to be harder than he usually is to do that. He was angry and hurt and that impacted the tone of his performance. It had to. Nothing wrong with that. Hope he can move on and return to his beautiful, wise and funny self. I would still sue Will Smith for the trauma and long lasting effects of that assault by Will Smith.
🤣 Godfrey be cracking me up when he talks about his dad “I was watching the Chris Rock and he kept changing clothes, why was he changing clothes?”
I been here since Godfrey had the female co-host he finally getting that Ad revenue money salute 🤙
That Netflix special was amazing. I loved it. Lol. Peace to Chris Rock.🙌🏽
What was the Bald dude talking about 😂 that’s always Chris’s delivery
Stop the madness man on the end. Chris was and is all that and a stack of buttermilk pancakes with syrup.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Love him and them to the hilt.
I understand his explanation. Dave Chappelle should be a perfect example. He has a certain style and delivery, but you can openly see and hear the change/maturity in him or his character.

If Netflix is paying Chris Rock 40 million dollars for two specials, then this live performance was just the appetizer for his “real” comedic standup performance.

... i think Dave Chappelle is a great example of a comedian evolving , in his younger day he had all this energy with his routines in stand up... where as now... he like a old dude who just knows how to tell funny stories... he dont do all the high pitch voices, he just talks.. and keeps you laughing the whole time....
Chris still should get 100M every time his name and slap is mentioned.

Comedians are very sensitive/serious about joke theft. That's the _only_ excuse for that random violence on a dead icon. I'm biased though. Robin Williams was a Grade A improviser. He could make instant gold from scratch, so I can't really see myself giving af about a couple stolen jokes from the c0caine era.
