I grew up in churches like this. I love!!! this scene in the Color Purple. I feel the presents of holy spirit every time I watch this scene. Praise!! the God of Isarel. Tears are streaming down my face. Not of cry of sorrow but crying for the joy of the Lord Jesus Christ. Psalms Chapter 66 vs 1 said " Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:

THE APPROVAL OF HER HEAVENLY AND EARTHLY FATHERS .....

That scene to me is the pinnacle of the story. You can go home again. I never can see it without getting emotional.
