I felt like the dialogue between cutscenes getting cut was annoying but not critical before. But cutting Sindri telling Atreus about the time when Brok died? That's insane. I looked ahead and yes, ALL of the dialogue between Kratos and Freya in Vanaheim is cut too. This is going to suck.

@@Xackadeethat’s really bad. That’s a ton of cut context and references. All of that dialogue throughout the game is crucial character development and story telling from cutscene to cutscene. Without it, shit just happens for no reason with little explanation or setup.

Teh second game has a lot more story stuff and they cut more for these video. I think they cut a bit too much.

*YOU BOTH ARE MISSING SO MANY BIG PLOT POINTS!* You even missed one of the biggest ones where Sindri told Atreus that Brok actually died and while he did bring him back he couldn’t get all his soul parts. You’re especially gonna be lost when you get to the Valkyries or when they explain what Gjallerhorn or even Draupnir can actually do because both are explained in non cutscene dialogue!

The Thor fight would of been even cooler if they kept some of the fight where Thor insults Kratos like this is the god that murdered a pantheon cuz they hurt his feelings or how Odin doesn't care about finding the giants anymore, or Tyr reconnecting with Mimir, so much in game dialogue is missing that adds more context. Also Sindri story about Brok dying to Atreus @@chand911

A lot of details and dialogue related to the main story were cut out by GameClips 😔 It's also why it feels pretty fast

Damn it's a struggle watching you girls react to Gameclips' uplaod..they really are cutting out majority of the important dialogue that happens outside of cutscenes..you girls really need to see all those for the full story and development of these characters

There's so much more they missing. 90% of all dialogue in this game comes from jus walking...so much build up before a cut scene and yet...they missing it all. Even sindri in this part of the game telling atreus that brok died and all that, these guys won't understand it when the reveal scene happens..they'll be scratching their heads..and that's just for 1 scene out of many they will find random

Unfortunate you guys stuck with this channel since it cuts out a lot of dialogue but I understand it is shorter than most others.

Also an important piece of dialogue missed between Atreus and Sindri is that Sindri revealed Brok died and Sindri went to the Light of Alfheim to retrieve his soul but couldn't retrieve it fully. The reason Sindri is germaphobic is because he always felt the feeling of the dead clinging to him after that experience

This is honestly the worst possible video you could have watched for this, it cuts out so much important story stuff because its during gameplay not cutscenes

You guys are missing a lot of content and context :( Wish you could've reacted to the different gameplay

Wow. They cut Sindri revealing that Brok died and cut Kratos talking about his previous family with Atreus. This is the worst possible playthrough they could have reacted to.

The snake the Loki/Atreus puts the soul into at the end is actually a baby Jormungandr. That's right, the big ass world serpent the we see earlier in the game and the last game! He travels both forward and backward through time as per his prophecy. It's also why Jormungandr loathes Thor, as he was originally a giant that endured sufferage by Thor like so many others.

Man y'all really chose the game clips one which cits out most dialogues related to storyline

Please watch another version, like the one of Player's Little Playground, GameClips cuts so much important dialogue away. It's incredibly frustrating!😭

I wanted to hear the dialog between the group on if the dark elfs or the light elfs were the good guys. I wanted to hear what yall thought on the subject or if you agreed with Kratos and Tyr. To bad the video ysll are watching cut it out

They’ve likely already finished watching the game story by the time this has been posted. I was holding judgment on this cut of the game’s story. Thought they were only going to use plot important traveling dialog. Yet they cut out rather vital dialog to the coming plot. I don’t want to say which, on the slim chance they’ve actually yet to watch that part. Just that Sindri had a very important confession to make to Atreus that was cut out. It’s really unfortunate they’re not getting the full story. Which means the riddle scene will also likely be cut too. Ratatoskr is one of the funniest summons in both games. The Bitter Squirrel will be summoned to drop health and rage energy, and he always curses you out before he leaves. It was so weird and random in the first game, and it didn’t make sense until you meet the full Ratatoskr in this game.

Please react to a longer version that doesn't skip gameplay dialogue.

Glad yall gave reacting to this series a try, but between reacting out of order, and specifically THIS channel cutting out everything that isnt a cut scene, you missed alooooot of what makes this series great.

They've got goldfish memory. "You see that lightning in the background? Oh shit, Thor has to be close" That's the frozen lightning that appeared during the fight between Kratos and Thor.

I think that snake at the end was the world serpent when it was young. In Norse mythology the world serpent is 1 of the 3 children of the girl and Loki, Fenrir is their 2nd child.

at 1:06:37 is one of Defining moment at history. It is at that moment, that atreus give soul to THE WORLD SERPENT and become his father (in snakes mind). That is why in God of war (2018), when kratos, atreus, and mimir met world serpent for the first time, the serpent said that atreus looks familiar to him and mimir said world serpent is sent back in time when battling thor. IMHO, it is kinda infinite loop that world serpent give so much help for kratos and atreus in their early journey, and that journey will eventually give the serpent live. Dang, norse myth already using infinite physics to the max lol.

Here is a little behind the scenes fact for the video: Angrboda's actress, Laya DeLeon Hayes, was cast due to Sunny Suljic(Atreus). They basically did the same thing that they did for Christopher Judge. They had them do a scene together, and Sunny got to decide. After they did the scene, Eric Williams, the game director, walked up to him and asked how he felt about her, in which Sunny replied, "she's awesome. It's feels like she's challenging me to get a better performance." Right then and there, they hired her. The crew loved her so much as well. She is absolutely incredible.

I understand why you chose the short video to react to for the channel, but on your own time someday I'd recommend watching a video that includes the dialogue that happens during gameplay because it provides A LOT more context and will greatly increase your emotional investment in the characters and world. Loving the reactions and looking forward to the next one! Bye!

When Angrboda says that "happens with everyone, except for the wolf part" i think Maybe Atreus Shapeshiftting powers come from Kratos side of family since Zeus could turn into different animals and persons, and when he is overwhelmed with emotions that trigger his transformations

I see everyone posting to watch another compilation yet no one saying which one so I’m recommending to watch the Andy Gilleand one which is called GOWR Movie and it shows dialogue in between as well some gameplay , it is a bit longer but it’s well worth it

Yeah, I put a link to it in my comment at the top, that one is the best one because it gets rid of the hud, and it really feels like a seamless movie with how the camera angles change n fights, it's the one they should of been recomendded from the start

The little snake that Loki revived with a giants soul is the same snake as the big giant snake on the water well ice now that they talk too

Yes, gameclip channels don't care about all the conversations that are important in the film scenes, but there are channels that really like to wait for conversations so that the audience is satisfied..😁

In case you do not know I should tell you about the scene at 35:50 . The scene where Kratos dives into the river to save Atreus. The original actor who played Kratos and voiced him died protecting his drowning son and was himself drowned in the sea. This scene was a tribute to him and in a better world he saved his son and lived. It really broke me while playing the game.

They've already got 7 parts to this, so I think it's too late to switch videos now. Shame, because they missed a *lot* of dialogue.

I believe this one doesn't cut out a lot of the dialogue and its VERY IMPORTANT that those dialogues aren't cut out for you to fully understand what happens basically in Ragnarok! It's not like other games where you can skip the other parts and just play the cutscenes because you WILL miss out a lot of information NEEDED for the whole story to tie together! The lightning that you saw, that was created from Kratos's fight with Thor. Their weapons clashed, and a bolt of lightning froze in place, and it remains there for the entire game (it's pretty cool). Also, when you thought that the giant wolf Atreus encountered in Jotunheim (the one that seemed to quickly change its size to a normal wolf) was Fenrir, it's not because they established in this game that the regular wolf Atreus lost was Fenrir. And I wanted to mention that the squirrel Kratos and Atreus encounter (Ratatoskr) is interesting because, from what I understand, in Norse mythology that squirrel travels the world tree (Yggdrasil), and goes back and forth between the bird (I think an Eagle) at the top of the tree and the snake (or snake-like creature) at the bottom of the tree just to say to each that the other hates them. He will say to the snake that the eagle said this (some trash talk) and say to the snake the eagle said this (some more trash talk) when they didn't. In this game, we see Angrboda. In actual Norse mythology she is a Jotun (Giant) who had three kids with Loki (Jörmungandr (the World Serpent), Fenrir (a giant wolf, and father to the wolves who chase the Sun and Moon), and Hel (the goddess of Death and Ruler of Helheim). And I heard that the snake, who they just put a giant's soul in, is the world serpent. In the first game Freya (and I think Mimir too) said that the serpent just appeared one day, and it's believed he was knocked back in time, from the future, by Thor's Hammer at Ragnarök. So, it is possible that little snake is the World serpent, but I am not a hundred percent sure (it would be cool though).

I wish you would have asked your community about where to watch from. There are many missing conversations in these videos that adds a lot to the whole journey.. Maybe you can add them with a bonus part from somewhere else.

For people in the comments, I’ve come to the realization that they don’t read KZread comments so there’s no point recommending stuff on KZread. They only read patreon comments and requests. People were spamming ever since their god of war 1 reaction that they have to react to ghost of Sparta and chains of Olympus as well but they ignored it. One of the few KZread channels that almost don’t listen to recommendations to from fans 😂. Most KZread channels will ask fans what KZread videos to react to and ask fans to give the links to said videos. These guys just pick out random videos and react to it and don’t listen to the fans in the comments spamming them to watch a different video. I think I’ll just keep this reaction. No point in watching people react to a video that cuts out 50% of story dialogue. They’re gonna be confused as hell which I don’t wanna see so imma just end my journey with them here. They were reacting to mkiceandfires cutscene videos for other games they reacted to. Why did they change for this one? 🤦

Giants can time travel, the snake actually is Loki/Atreus's son which turns into the world serpent because of the soul of a giant, nd then has a fight with Thor in Ragnarok which throws him into the past, which is why we see him in God Of War 4 fully grown while Atreus was still a child.

would be really disappointed if the next part would be from gameclips as well, cause they've cut all the important parts related to the story in between games and only kept the cutscenes for the sake of keeping just cutscenes and not for people who wants to watch it for the story

If they’re missing so many important parts then soon they’ll be more lost than and elderly person asking you to stop a movie every 15 minutes to explain what’s going on and what did they miss. I speak from experience!

In Norse mythology, Angrboda is Loki's wife, and they have 3 children, Jormangandr, Fenrir and Hel. I'm pretty sure we only get to see the creation of 2 of them

Tyr is a good god. Like many stories in the previous game and what Mimir says. Tyr was the god of war but rather than starting wars, he fought to end wars and solve conflict with peace or stop conflict before a war would start. He is also the only person to have all races unite freely to one with building Tyr's temple and the travel room which was made to easily travel between all 9 realms. While also helping the giants hide and save them from the genocide by Thor and Odin who wanted giants exterminated.

Just to let you guys know that snake that Atreus just revived was non other than yourmungandar the giant snake and he is Atreus son and Kratos grandson. so thats how the giant snake was born

You guys gotta reconsider choosing a different video to watch because the amount of story, character, and world building thats being cut is criminal. The atreus and brok convo is literally a plot point in the story. And theres so much more but i'll obviously wont specify

Wow. Again, this is a stripped down version of the game. It exclusively just shows the “cutscenes” without taking into account that the WHOLE game is framed to be a single-shot so you’re quite literally missing IMPORTANT pieces of story content. Important pieces of dialogue are said through some of the “walking” sections (LITERALLY FAYES ENTIRE SECTION WHICH WAS MISSED BTW) but Gameclips sees that as gameplay and they decide to cut them to fit their video template which is sloppy. It also cut out the BIGGEST PLOT POINT IN THE GAME with Sindri telling Atreus about Brok’s MISSING piece of his SOUL. This also runs into the problem of watching game cutscenes as a whole. The concept is just broken. These games aren’t structured like weekly episodes of a tv show. It’s not meant to cutdown to this degree because the in-betweens are where the devs put a good bulk of their story into, for example, the boss fights. I can already see the Heimdal fight just being the begining, cut to him getting hit, then DEAD. Which the game put a BIG lead up to with how to defeat him and how Kratos will BREAK FATE AGAIN but you’ll experience it in mere seconds wondering why things happened. It’s like watching the first Avengers movie where Hawkeye’s arrow blows up the Helicarrier and then it cuts to Loki being free. The story doesn’t take a brake during gameplay sections and resumes in the cutscenes. Unlike movies/tv shows, the story CONTINUES through the gameplay and the cutscenes serve as breathers while still carrying the narrative. This all may be “overreacting” but while you’re 2 hours or so into the cutscenes, it looks like you’re 6 hours already into the game. As someone who grew up with this series since the ps2 era, it’s quiet disappointing to see the GOW community having to tell you how to experience this in a proper way which the easiest way is to play it and seeing none of their advice getting through.

1:08:33 Angrboda explains that Gryla is her grandmother and that she whispers the animals souls away and uses them to live moments from their lives. Its not confirmed or anything but there's a good chance that there probably isn't anymore souls left that she took from the animals that Atreus could save.

so funny replaying this, knowing that in that prophecy it is not Tyr their god of war, but kratos himself.... chills!

Such a shame. Very important dialogues are cut, youll miss a lot of backstories and character development.

So the edit misses part of the story. They all noted that the light seemed different. We see light elves killing dark elves, and then they attack the group. Atreus thinks they don't remember that they helped push back the dark elves. The player is supposed to figure out that with the elves there is a balance. That coming to Alfheim the first time, they killed a lot of dark elves and one of their leaders. The balance is broken and now the light elves are taking over, and defend the temple even from Kratos. The whole time Tyr won't aid in attacking the elves. He starts off freezing and Kratos and Atreus have to keep him safe. Then, he starts hiding letting them focus on killing elves, while Atreus keeps trying to push Tyr to defend himself.

That Snake is the World Serpsnt lol. A lot of details you guys missed but good see u both enjoying it 😊

The table scene with the breakfast you can get up at any point but sitting there gets additional dialogue which is why there were the pauses. Also it’s just kind of an awkward scene seeing these characters sitting around eating

It may be that someone has already told you this, but since I don't know I'm going to try to give you some context, because some of Ragnarok's dialogue refers to these events and since you only reacted to the main Classic games, you might not understand the references. The gods of Olympus not only made Kratos kill his wife and daughter, they also made him kill his own mother. When Kratos becomes a god he finds out that his mother was alive and dying in Atlantis. He goes to her and she manages to tell him that his brother was still alive, prisoner of Thanatos (God of Death). When she tries to tell Kratos who his father was, a curse is activated that turns her into a monster and Kratos has to free her from her existence without knowing who his father was. That event causes Kratos to destroy Atlantis and for this reason Poseidon detested him. Kratos goes to Hades to free Deimos, his brother, and confront Thanatos. Along the way he destroys Charon, another goddess (Thanatos' daughter), and once he frees his brother, they both fight Thanatos. During the fight Thanatos manages to kill Deimos and Kratos avenges his death by giving the god of death his own medicine. Other data and references for previous games: Before what happened in the first game, Kratos rescues Helios from Persephone, who feeling abandoned by the gods by making her marry Hades, planned the destruction of the world by putting the gods to sleep. Kidnapping Helios so that there would be eternal night and together with Atlas destroy the pillar that supports the world. Kratos ties Atlas to hold the world on his shoulders and eliminates Persephone... that's why Hades hates him. In a game, for mobile phones, some events that occur between GOW 1 & 2, Kratos kills Cerix, the son of Hermes. It is at that moment that the gods of Olympus turn against him. I hope this clarifies some things and gives clarity to what you are about to see.

You are missing a lot of the story by watching this version, which cuts out some of the most important moments in the game.

Focusing on the main plot is important yes, but the side content reveals interesting lore on the world building of Norse Mythology & extra info on the characters we been following. Without spoilers, let’s just say there was a truly breathtaking creature that’s trapped out in the desert of the Elve Realm & our guys must free it from its imprisonment.

Game clips is so bad cause they thought that the lightning is thor being present when Atreus and sindri talk about it being the fight Kratos and thor had but game clips just skips 😞
