“The Hot Gates” refers to the Battle of Thermopylae, with “Thermopylae” being Ancient Greek for “hot gates.” It is the famous Spartan last-stand against the Persians fictitiously depicted in the 2006 Zach Snyder movie “300.” The battle occurred in 480 BCE, and since Kratos was alive when it occurred but did not fight/die in it, he must have been too young. Spartan males became soldiers upon reaching age twenty, and their indoctrination/training intensified upon reaching age twelve, meaning Kratos must have been born between 499 and 492 BCE.

it shows that Kratos has succeeded in thwarting the Son kills father cycle in a way that Cronos and Zeus never even thought of and failing because of it; by accepting that his son will surpass him someday and that he can't be on top or rule forever. even ENCOURAGING Atreus to surpass him. had Cronos or Zeus not let paranoia or prophecy dictate their actions based on their sons "possibly" overthrowing them, they would've prevented a LOT of tragedy and pointless death and bloodshed from "certainly" happening.

13:09 This story about Hraesvlger wanting to retire from her role as "Hel" and that she needs a replacement to do so is especially sad concerning who the ruler of Helheim is in Norse Mythology.
