I've never realized this. It's so crystal clear yet it's taken me almost 40 years to realize! Pastor Craig is awesome!

I pray God keep increasing Craig in the wisdom of God for this generation. Keep building soldiers bro.

I have somehow always believed what this sermon is saying. I always felt weird or different when a circle of my so-called friends would discuss this phrase "God wants me to be happy" and I could never fully agree. At times I thought I was being devil's advocate or disagreeing on purpose. I'd ask, " Well what if your happiness is sleeping with another woman's husband? "...or " What if your happiness was eating a whole chocolate cake and you are diabetic?" Many times, I would get blank stares. I truly believe that God will give us the desire to do what's right, whether it "makes us happy" or not. We will be fulfilling his purpose. We have to continuously resist Satan and his lousy temptation.

I agree with what you are saying, but I think it should be acknowledged that God does want you happy. He wants you fully HAPPY in HIM. He wants you so overwhelmingly joyful in the greatness and magnitude of His being. John Piper says this best.

The Joy of the Lord is my strength. At destruction and famine they shall laugh. The happy that he is speaking of is the world happy. To be carnally minded is death. To be spiritually minded is LIFE and peace. James 4:4-8 Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God. Whoever is friends with the world is an enemy with God. If happy is a flesh mind. It's death! The Lord has Joy out of your inner belly will flow rivers of living water. Only Jesus brings true Joy. All else is a light affliction lasting only for a moment

God is the end goal

Holiness > Happiness

Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is so good. God Bless pastor Craig being his servant and for preaching an important message. We NEED to fix our eyes on Jesus! Amen

My husband, of 30 years, wants out because he's "not happy, no longer in love". I refuse to give in, to give up. I still love him deeply and made a vow for better or worse. It breaks my heart, but I know God can heal and restore our marriage.

The sharing is all you can do, but that is being obedient to what God has called us to do. You can't force a horse to drink the water, just lead them to the trough.

I am definitely not a Christian, but I do remember John 15:11 ?

Why would this message be reserved only for marriages that are in trouble now? There should be conviction for those who are divorced now because they were certainly saying then that,”God wants me to be happy.” It’s time for each and everyone of us not put a limit to the full truth of God’s Word.

This sermon is right on. That is the problem with American Christianity today. Try preaching the so called Prosperity Gospel to the Christians in Iraq and Syria right now.

Hello Life Church, I understand and agree with the message as to there are those "verse" message" line" that are misuse. But, in a general sense. it is still said. So consolidating everything. Don't you think the title of the sermon is wrong? just the title?. I don't disagree with the message.

Of course he does want us to be happy! 😊 Think of it this way. We are God’s children, and he is our Father. If you were a parent and had a child of your own, would it make any sense at all for you to want to see your child suffer in life and not be happy? Uh no. So why do you think that our Father, who is only good and only love, would want to see his children suffer and struggle? Just saying.. he does want us to be happy. Why would he put us on this Earth just for us to struggle and not enjoy our life to the fullest? Think about that.

God's priority is our holiness our happiness comes out of holiness. If our happiness makes us unholy God does not want this

Corona didn’t age well

I know this God wants us to be miserable that's why there is so many suicides. Being a Christian is a terrible life filled with suffering. It's all I ever hear " How we must fight and battle and suffer" God wants to test us and see how we suffer till the point of suicide. God just wants to use us and when he can't get what he wants he throws us away.

I'm sorry you feel that way. You know, when I was younger I used to think that God was just a puppet master who liked to control people. I grew up in church, but I had that idea. But this doesn't line up with what the Bible says. Do you know the parable of the good shepherd? He has 100 sheep, 1 goes missing, and he goes off looking for it. That's Jesus. If God just wanted to throw us away, He would never have suffered on a cross for us. And I have had plenty of suffering in my life, but I can say with confidence that if I just hang in there and obey God, I've come to a place where I can look back and say "Look what God did. I never would have gone through this, but this is better than what I planned."
