My Mom exclusively gets yorkies and one of our yorkies was such a diva and would always act so helpless. I can't tell you how often I had to go and get her unstuck from one or two blades of grass(that isn't a joke, I checked). But one time she was outside with my Mom and saw a mouse and her instincts took over and before my Mom could even process there was a mouse the dog had sprinted over and crushed the mouse with her paw with her four pounds of body weight. You can take the dog outta the fight, but can never take the fight outta the dog. I miss that dog...

The Yorkie is trying to attack my girl every single time we cross paths and his owners tend to forget, that she can literally swallow him in one bite. She would never, but I can't stop thinking about it. And the little devil has already bitten one of our other neighbours. At least they gave him all his shots...

Yeah, small dogs who've been properly trained and socialized are fantastic! They're well-behaved and know their boundaries! Too bad I keep coming across homes with unleashed yorkies and other small breeds in their front yard and they come running up to my 50lbs shar pei mix to start snapping! My dog isn't aggressive but she also doesn't like to tolerate bad behavior from other dogs and has "told off" dogs much larger than her. By this point, if I see a small dog trying to charge mine, I will put myself in the way.

Agree completely with you. In my earlier post I said about the Yorkie incident with my Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier and her Rottweiler bestie. If our dogs acted like hers did, she would have called the police. I love well trained small dogs. Don't know it is but the other dogs who are gentle giants, yes they've had training and socialising even after being adopted out of some horrendous situations, yet they don't act like that?

Yup, all dogs need training, no matter what size. It's not just big dogs out there you need to worry about with Yorkies - pretty much anything could kill them in reaction to their "aggression challenge" (and that's how other animals view that aggressive display - not cute but like some kid who thinks they own the place)

I was a mum to a Yorkiepoo for 16 wonderful years and barking was indeed his love language. He was also indeed a diva and a Mr. Napoleon. He also went with me everywhere, even to the bathroom and tried to catch me as I was falling when he was a puppy. He was also the very best boy when it came to taking care of me. I have Cerebral palsy, hypoglycemia and mental health issues and he was trained to help me manage all three. My good boy passed a few months ago while I've been in the hospital and a physical rehab center and would look for me every time my dad came in the house up until the day he died 😢. Rest In Peace Wilby, mummy will always love you and thank you for being the very best boy.
