There is nothing weird for the two to understand each other. People in Johannesburg had the opportunity of living with different races, Xhosa, Zulu, Mozambican, Malawian, Afrikaans and English languages, although Xhosa is somewhat difficult for them to speak. Ok'salayo they understand what you say or guesswork using isiZulu. I have a friend of mine who is Pedi speaking and I'm Xhosa speaking. We speak our languages to each other to the surprise of the listeners. There are, of course, certain words that are hard, each will change to English to clarify them. We never realized that people around us were impressed by the way we are speaking until they voiced it out. So, yiBabel.

"Isandla" on Nathi's latest album keeps me going when I'm at my lowest, this guy was gifted this talent by God which could be the reason why he's had so many ups and downs in his past life cz God was drawing him closer to the talent he had given him. It's an interesting conversation King David. I watch your podcast more often. I enjoy every guest story, for example, prison love. You probing skills are of a very high quality and I piccked up that you are a reading young man. I'm retiring at UNISA and interested to to share my life and development as a village girl. My education struggles and how I empower myself supported fully by 2 men, my grandfather and later my spouse took over. I'm 65 years old. I'm not sure whether elderly women like myself could come tribute towards motivating the young, from humble beginnings, and what is unique men support who happen to be very unpopular as fathers and spouses.

@kamvasinomgqomo2640
10 ай бұрын
ohh its from Nathi's perspective that he believes that GOD gave us our languages intentionally and with reasons, so for us to communicate or pray in English when we talk to him feels like we are less appreciative, and that could lead to our prayers not being heard. He argued that the prayers we say in our own languages are more powerful, he was referencing to us black South Africans who prays in English. He further believes that's why white peoples prayers are heard because they pray in the language God gave them. I guess the title is derived from this argument phrase. @@ModinewsSA

Nathi is always so shy but here he became himself and hiself is so brilliant… I didn’t think King Dave would understand every word cause Nathi is using the Xhosa you don’t hear in Jozi😂😂 so proud of the team.. beautiful interview

Quite a serious and sobering story by Nathi. It’s unlike any that we have heard on this channel. There’s something about a man taking responsibility for his own life and owning up to his demons and influences.
“Awkwazi ukumlahlekisa umntu ongaziyo but uyakwazi ukumlahlekisa umntu owaziyo” Very deep

This sounds so unfair. Nathi went through the most in his life to get here, and yet he still has to fight for what he knows he deserves! What he fought to believe he deserves! Bophelo bo odd indeed. But the human spirit still perseveres I suppose. What an amazing interview! Thank you for this King David, and thank you for sharing your story Nathi Mankayi.

"Isandla" on Nathi's latest album keeps me going when I'm at my lowest, this guy was gifted this talent by God which could be the reason why he's had so many ups and downs in his past life cz God was drawing him closer to the talent he had given him. I remember when my mother passed away in 2015,his Nomvula album kept me going. I would be driving alone somewhere preparing my mom's funeral and have his album on repeat all day. This guy is a God sent❤
Imimoya,derived from a powerful biblical scripture in Ephesians 6.🙏🏾
Proud to have worked with Nathi on his first 2 albums' artwork. This gonna be most viewed on Bra Dav's podcast.
I've always loved Nathis music but now I love his persona, his songs is still healing me to this day. This song was mentioned by Unathi in one of her interviews and I have been listening to it since. It's a worship song,
He said I rephrase 'I give you vibes like I know you, as my fan, I don't treat you like a stranger even though I don't know you' that's super amazing...damn 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽💯
I had all the emotions you can ever think of 😭😭😭😭. Yho Nathi I feel seen 😭😭😭 kubuhlungu ukufunda ezilalini where you are taught everything in Xhosa . I started to understand English when I was in grade 8 and I became fluent in grade 10 even though I still lacked confidence … even now at my big age (26 years) I still lack confidence when it comes to express myself in English but ke the purpose is bigger than the language and therefore I need to push . I haven’t finish this interview and wow it’s a lot , thank you so much for your openness . And to Mr Mashabela you’re a hero , love you lots ❤️❤️✨
His truth about cigarettes 😮😮😮 No one has ever mentioned it
I was like: Oh bra Dave released a video, and its with Nathi. Let me hear what's the convo about. Then Nathi spoke in IsiXhosa, I was hooked. Siyabulela nge content emnandi kangaka. (I am not Xhosa by the way)😃
I hope young and upcoming artist are listening to these kind of conversations, wishing Nathi all the best 🙏
“Kant’ uJesu uyandiva xa ndilila, inyembezi uyazosula othule umthwalo, xandibeka i Themba lami”….. This song by Nathi has always been my fave and my go to song every time I win In life because damn ndikhule kanzima and all my dreams seemed impossible. Thank you so much for this Bra David, I didn’t know Nathi’s story, I just knew a few of his songs. Nathi is the epitome of resilience!!!!! I don’t know how many times I cried and laughed at the same time while watching this interview😅❤ Nathi please keep it up with the amazing work, continue making amazing music and God bless you!!

I love that song, every Saturday going to church that's my song. My daughter sang along as young as she was. Very inspiring song.
I have all his songs...his songs are sang with such liberty...one spiritually aligned brother...great writer
I brought up 2 boys with no father figure as in father and uncle but by the grace of God they finished school and Tertiary. They are not perfect but they could be better with some uncle to look up to. They are so domesticated as in cooking and cleaning...
This one is for the books! History has been documented!Also Nathi made me realise that the biggest hurdle one must overcome is a mental one…this man had all the odds stacked against him but he made it.
Coming from TikTok , Nathi made me subscribe... He is so real 😍 I love him

@kamvasinomgqomo2640
10 ай бұрын
ohh its from Nathi's perspective that he believes that GOD gave us our languages intentionally and with reasons, so for us to communicate or pray in English when we talk to him feels like we are less appreciative, and that could lead to our prayers not being heard. He argued that the prayers we say in our own languages are more powerful, he was referencing to us black South Africans who prays in English. He further believes that's why white peoples prayers are heard because they pray in the language God gave them. I guess the title is derived from this argument phrase. @@ModinewsSA

Beautiful interview as always. English as a language is just that a language, a tool to communicate. Not a measure of anyone's intellect. As a Pedi man, I'm glad and happy Nathi proudly speaks his native language with no regard to what others are saying. He understands himself and his gift. I really admire his journey within music and his deep rooted faith in his craft and I hope to meet him one day and tell him how much his music has been a blessing in overcoming so many obstacles in my life. It can only be God. Ndiyathandaza amandisele.
I remember where I was and what i was doing when i first heard Nomvula. It just tickled my heart strings. One of the most beautiful songs ever made. Beautiful interview👌🏿
I must say out of all the nguni languages, isiXhosa is the best (personal opinion). I'm saying this as a Mosotho who cant speak any nguni languages. I understand both isiZulu and isiXhosa a little but i really love listening to amaXhosa speaking.
I am born Tswana, I learned to understand Zulu and Xhosa a bit, There is language barrier here and there.😅. Thanks for a great conversation. The man is dropping some jams. Blackness is made for greatness
