hoorayyyy. haha. you pronounce the group name as the letters. thanks so much for reacting. ive been requesting this group for months to other reactors too. :) Can you react to their songs too, please? :) Joon Park is fluent in English. he's also one of the oldest kpop group members still active. I think he's a little past 50 years old. Also, this song is roughly based on his struggles living in the US. His mom is alive and well but the other scenes in the MV are somewhat inspired by his life story. Apparently, other students at his school in the US used to spit in his food because it smelled funny to them. He was raised by a single mom because his dad died when he was still young. And when the koreans who worked in the factories back then (in the US) gathered for lunch, they shared their food. His mom would gather the leftovers and take them home for him. the noodle scene was inspired by the memory of his mom giving him clear noodles. They changed the lyrics to black bean noodles because it sounded better. If you compare the korean words. Also, according to the g.o.d. members, this song was so impactful (in Korea) that runaway kids actually made videos and phone calls to broadcasting stations because they missed their moms and families. I may have missed something but those are some facts about the song. :) Their songs were also produced by JYP before he made his own label. :)

I totally agree with you ! All these are my personal favorites. 😁

g.o.d is a JYP boygroup. Their first boygroup, actually. Joon Park is the oldest member, and was actually already 29 at debut, 1 year older than Park Jinyoung himself. LOL he was the only one who could call JYP on first name basis and speak to him informally simply because he's older than him. And even after all these years, he speaks super basic Korean. He can't even read Hangul too much. Anyway, this and Lies probably are g.o.d's most iconic songs. I swear, Lies gets covered by an idol group in Gayo Daejun show practically every year. I highly recommend that one!

Well, g.o.d isn't from JYP. Their music producer & songwriter is JYP, which is their housemate. But they aren't from JYP Ent, they're from Sidus. They did go to JYP Ent after 2004 when Yoon Kye Sang left but they aren't formed or trained by JYP or his company.

I grew up listening to this era and this song is my favorite of all time...

I think it is an autobiographical of one of the members. It is a beautiful song that anyone can relate to.

I hope you check out Shinhwa as well. They are the longest running Idol group and make amazing

If you know the program: Immortal Songs 2, they featured on there as one of the episode specials. And their main vocalist: Kim Tae Woo is a staple on the show. Hes been a contestant on there pretty regularly, if i recall

It looks like he became the MC in May-ish, replacing Hwang Chi Yeol. but he was also a contestant as well as becoming the theme of one of the immortal songs 2 episodes along with his other members. I highly recommend watching the g.o.d special if you wanna check out other talented vocalists. so yeah, now hes the MC. lol. but i meant, he was active on Immortal Songs 2 long before he replaced Hwang Chi Yeol and thats what i was talking about. :)

I'm betting it was mentioned before, but fun fact -- the tune was sampled off of 2Pac's Life Goes On. I love singing this song to Life Goes On at karaoke as a joke. Not sure if the rights were bought properly or otherwise illegally copied, but yeah - ya felt it there big guy, came str8 from 2Pac fabric.

The guy who raps from 5:45 - Jun Park. That's who the story is based off of. The mother's still well and alive, but he lost his father early, mom went to work, (manual jobs) so whenever there was some jabchae (sweet potato starch noodles) dish, she bought it home for Jun. When Jun offered it to his mother, she said "No, I don't like japchae.".

Most is the real story of the boy band "god"s leader "Park Joon hyeong". But his mom is alive. Not dead. This is based of his childhood story in USA. JYP who is the producer heard Joon hyeong's story and made this song. The actor who is in the MV is Jang Hyeok. He was in the same company when they made this MV. Jang Hyeok is one of best action movie star in Korea.

I couldn't see the answer about question of "Is this true story?", i try to reply. Yes, The lyric of this song is very similar with JunHyeong-Park's childhood's story. But it has 2 different points between lyric and story. 1. Mom vs Dad. 2. Faded away vs Not.
