Yeah, it's pretty hard to disarm a Goblin of their Jaw attack. You can knock out their teeth, but they go by Shark Teeth rules. It is lore that Goblins constantly lose and regrow their teeth like sharks.

Stab the dog and cut the horse, Goblins eat and take by force! Goblins race and Goblins jump Goblins slash and Goblins bump. Burn the skin and mash the head, Goblins here and you be dead! My wife is playing a goblin raised by orcs with the Barbarian Giant Instinct. She carries around multiple "great" weapons that are so tall, they leave noticeable grooves in the ground everywhere she walks. Probably a meme build, but still a lot of fun. Haven't played a goblin yet, but Bouncy & Reckless Abandon is the exact kind of nonsense I live for when I'm not DMing!

Bouncy Goblin is so good for a Swashbuckler. +2 to Tumble Through, and they can get Panache through a tumble? Excellent. Also, I think you're underselling Reckless Abandon... I don't think it's for one save. It sounds like you succeed ALL SAVES during the turn you use it: " For the remainder of your turn, if you roll a failure or critical failure on a saving throw against a harmful effect, you get a success instead."

Regaining Panache can be done via Tumbling Through, through your particular style's method, or just doing something the DM feels is daring enough, like swinging across a chandelier or sliding down drapery. The various styles you can pick are interesting too. My favorite is Wit, because you gain the Bon Mot skill feat and can use it to regain Panache. Goblin Song is very good to intimidate enemies, as both performance and intimidation are Charisma based skills!

  • @bolt7

    @bolt7

    3 жыл бұрын

It doesn't intimidate. It's a specific action that only grants a small penalty to perception (usually doesn't matter in battle, and not good for stealth since singing gives away your position.) and will saves (useful, but usually not worth an action just for the chance to give a -1). The demoralize action is good, but in no way synergizes with Goblin Song. Having a high charisma does not justify spending a feat on such a bad effect, even if it is also charisma based (and not even on the same skill). It is flavourful and worth taking for the flavour if you aren't optimizing.

Recently I finished my first Pathfinder 2e game, my character was a goblin monk that was based on a character of mine frome a d&d game a while ago, in short his name was "Gargen, sharp biter, bestest gob nom'er ever!" I put all of my feats into my sharp teeth and we explained that "Gargen not good guy, Gargen fearsome warlord" but he just sucked at being evil and was too dumb to realize that the love that people gave him wasn't out of fear. Best quote: "Of course Gargen nice to man slave, man slave not work hard if not happy and Gargen need good work had so Gargen be noce." -gargen explaining why he's nice to the servants of the local king.

I've created a build I'd love to play soon: A Hard Tailed Goblin is the overseer of a mining operation (high Str and Cha) when they stumble upon an ancient tomb and hear a warning voice. The goblin ignores it, off course, and becomes cursed with the Ancestors Oracle Curse. He can use his Charisma for spells and his tail for attacks and Skills (such as Trip), so he doesn't even need any weapons, allowing for a lot of flavour (or give him a whip for ranged Trip). He's still going to die as his defenses would be too low, but that's a goblin for ya.

My first PF character was a charhide goblin Alchemist called Tig-Tog. He came from a family of goblins that had a natural talent for making things go boom and burn.(Them with it usually as well). He was passed the knowledge of the boom booms and when he was of age to carry on the family tradition he, being the intellectual of the family, suggested the radical ideas of using a fuse or (gasp) throwing smaller versions. The family was outraged, and banished him for suggesting to break the great family tradition. Now on his own to survive initially, it turns out his family knowledge came handy for him as a bartender. In turn he found that alcohol can be useful in making boom booms.

GOBLINS ARE MY FAVORITE ANCESTRY. Omg. Love that they made them a core ancestry. I tend to play off-beat goblins that don't fit within the stereotype. Either super-brave and heroic or intelligent and curious to a fault. My favorite so far is an inventor and master engineer. Also, fun thing for Homebrew settings and Lamashtu's Chosen. Lamashtu's Chosen can potentially be used with DM permissions. As long as you can give them any sort of reasoning behind the mutation and provided they're up for it.

Also, noticed that Kneecap does not have a duration - I think this means that the duration is 10 minutes (which is the default for things that don't have durations?)? Now a successful Kneecap makes monsters totally kite-able!

You use action to Hide in front of someone, Succeed Stealth roll vs Perception DC and You are hidden. You only need Legendary Sneak or Very Very Sneaky Goblin. When it comes to the questions how you can hide in front of someone is good question, they can just use SEEK action to see you 😏 by RAW Very Very Sneaky allows you to hide in front of someone. Based on what logic is different question. Maybe your eyes saw someone walking by and our Goblin used that moment to take Sneak Action to become hidden, Pickpocketed and Sneaked away using three actions? Very Very Sneaky reminds me of Kuroko no Basket Manga/Anime 👍 check it up and you get the reference. Here is the basic idea how progression would go in PF2e for noobs like me: Level 1 Goblin Feat: Very Sneaky -> You Sneak 5ft farther up to your speed (Swift Sneak) and if you start and end your turn behind cover you don't become observed if you end sneak in open. Level 7 Skill Feat: Swift Sneak requires you to be Master in Stealth -> Allows you to sneak up to your speed (You no longer gain the +5 sneak benefit from Very Sneaky) Level 13 Goblin Feat: Very Very Sneaky -> You can sneak up to your speed (Swift Sneak) and you can both Hide and Sneak in open. Level 15 Skill Feat: Legendary Sneak requires you to be Legendary in Stealth and have Skill Feat: Swift Sneak -> Allows you to sneak up to your speed and you can both hide and sneak in open (just like Very Very Sneaky) and if you are doing any other Exploration Activity you also Avoid Notice. If GM allows you to take downtime later to Retrain Skill Feats you can chance Swift Sneak at level 13 to something else. Allows meaning there is possibility you are middle of world ending doom and can't do so right away or GM just refuses for you to do so. You can also at level 15 Retrain If you take Legendary Sneak you make both Very Sneaky and Very Very Sneaky obsolete and by rules you can't Retrain Ancestry Feats 😓 unless DM makes an exception. The dream is to have access to Observant Explorer feat as Rogue reaching lvl 15 so you can literally Avoid Notice while searching hidden traps and creatures on top of doing any exploration activity like Scouting better known as Keeping Watch for that sweet +1 bonus to initiative. Or when you walk in city you know if you are being followed 😅

Wait, Kneecap does not mention a duration for the Speed penalty. How long does it last? How can a creature remove that penalty? It does not say anything about that. I am scared.

Y'know, I didn't noticed that, but unfortunately, they have addressed this. A "permanent" speed penalty would've been BRUTAL lol "PFS Note Per design team clarification, the Speed penalty inflicted by the Kneecap feat has a duration of 1 round."

What I like about goblins: they're fun, the silly kind of fun, almost as much as kobolds (my favorite). What I DON'T like about goblins: Pathfinder's looks for them - they look like were-Stewie Griffin. Seriously, the less human-like a race is, the uglier the Paizo artists draw it: tengus look like they just got out of an accident, kobolds look like a cross between a very ugly frog and a demonically possessed cake, and so on and so forth. Would it hurt them to draw the goblins a bit more like their World of Warcraft brethren? (I might be biased, since I used to play a female goblin fighter in WoW, and, well... she was three feet of hotness)

Btut Goblins are not meant to be attractive for humans, I mean the human picture in the books would probably look ugly for a goblin. Hotness is not an objective term in any sense

@@tamadesthi156 maybe. Well, at least this time they made ugliness universal... in Pathfinder 1's racial compendium the males of most races looked ugly as quck, while the females looked extra hot. This time, if you're not human or demihuman you're quckin' ugly, period.

@@tamadesthi156 Look it the other way around... Half orcs, half elves, half dragons, half demons, half angels, half a lot of other things - it's pretty obvious that apparently a high percentage of the fantasy world finds humans hot. It's only fair that we get the other way around too... That said, I'd content myself with "cute"... I mean, PF1 kobolds were cute in a silly lizlet sorta way, and SF skittermanders are DEFINITELY cute. Why shouldn't we be allowed to get cute other races? Or, at least, not "fell off the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down" kinda ugly...

@@alarkhar first off all for me not every non human race looks like they"fell off the ugly tree" I mean gnomes are kinda cute, halfligns are basically little humans with hairy feet. Elves are attractive for most humans and I think paizo did a good job at catching this aethereal beauty of elfs in their artwork. I also wouldn't they that all Orcs are so unattractive as I also would say that not all humans are attractive. In fact I love that there are humans in the book that are not an chlichèd picture of an attractive superhero. Orcs have a rough, wild something to them which would make the mattractive to somebody. Attractiveness is more then just the looks, it can be all sort of things.(also don't forget there are people like furries in our world) To your example with half-elves and half-orcs: Elves in an elven community would be surrounded by elvish perfection everyday, not wonder they would be fascinated and potientially fell in love with a human. For Half-Orcs it is the other way around, why not a human who lust for the wilderness of an orc. Oh andthey can also be conceived due to rape keep that in mind. To the half-demon, -dragon -what ever thing: they are not exclusivly to humans they make offspring with all kind of mortal races, and I mean why not, if you would live for ever you would also tryout new stuff. Why should every race be cute for you? I find most goblins cute in there own scary way. Taste is different. Oh and one other thought: IF you would live in a world with all these different ancestries, your picture of what is attractive would be a different one.
