I remember watching this game live on tv. It was a "friendly" game between England and Colombia, so there was nothing to play for other than pride. But I remember after the game that Higuita thought that he heard the referee blow his whistle for offside so that's why he did that crazy save. But actually the referee hadn't signalled an offside. So it turned out to be the most crazy save in the history of football!

i'm from Colombia, and this Goalkeeper still alive, is the most iconic goalkeeper of our country. The game in the moment when he do the trick is offside, in one interview he tells about that. And he trained that move before. He enjoyed risky moves, but no all finish well. One time he leave the goal alone and run to the other side with te ball, to make a goal, but in the middle lost the ball and the other team easily make a goal. The long hair and mustace is tipical from the 90´s in colombia.

It wasn't offside. Offside isnt offside if the players positioned offside do not contribute to the scene. Its called passively offside I think. there could be 5 man standing offside, as long as the striker tries to score and the players in the offside don't distract the keeper or touch the ball, it's a goal
