When at home I was practicing and learning the Carioca accent. I took a little break then I watched ‘love is blind Brazil’ and the Paulista accent was so fun to learn , so much so that I struggled to to speak in the Carioca accent. Plus side? When I went to Brazil last year so many people thought I was Brazilian because of my accent 😆. Love your videos Anna!

i learned the portuguese from portugal but choose whatever accent learn the chacteristics of the accents and maybe choose the one that sounds nice to you

i’m excited to be learning portuguese at the same time as you! I just got back from 2.5 weeks in argentina and met a lot of brazillian tourists there, and decided i wanted to learn portugués and visit brazil. I also found a portuguese for spanish speakers class at my university which will be super nice because it covers 4 semesters in one by building off my spanish background

i'm brazilian and i'm so happy you're picking up portuguese, my advice is that if you already know spanish and can roll your r's easily then the paulista accent will suit you well but you definitely give me the vibes to speak like a carioca lol (have you made a language learning notion template that you're using? if yes then i would love to see it, im back on my language learning era as well and a template to keep track of all of it would be great!)

Well, as a Brazilian, I'd suggest you choose the accent that best relates to your lifestyle and personality. Since paulistas e cariocas have it different. Also, don't take it too seriously. You can always switch once you're there.😊

If I can give you an advice, i would tell you that the accent from São Paulo is easier for you who already is fluent in English, but tbh I prefer our accent from Rio de Janeiro! hahaha i love your content!

I’m carioca but I’m sure it’s gonna be way easier for you to learn the accent from SP once their pronunciation is closer to Spanish

Also, Portuguese is my first language and English my second. Even tho I'm Carioca (from Rio de Janeiro), I'd say that the Paulista (from São Paulo) accent could be the easiest for you to learn as a second language, because their "R" is curled, so it can be closer to the R we say in American English. I mean, that's just a personal note lol

I learned growing up around brazilians. As I got older, I did living language because back then it wasnt language apps. Then I use italki and got a tutor. Afterwards When I got into my 20's I use Pimsleur, Rosetta stone and Fluenz. I have a sao paulo accent mix with Bahia and european lol Now Im in college studying Portuguese.

I'm Brazilian, and I'd recommend you to go with the São Paulo one. :)

creo que lo mejor seria no preocuparse por el acento que vas a tener si no por el modo que quieras aprender, si vas a estar en Brasil, vas a aprender portugues, es inevitable eso, por ahi como sugerencia lo mejor seria quizas prepararse e investigar en el tema del dinero, la comida, las zonas donde vas a vivir, entonces de por si el hecho de buscar, saber y preguntar te va a dar las herramientas de lo que vas a tener que hacer donde quieras estar, obvio no es que dejes de estudiar, si no capaz redistribuir esa energía de manera mas ordenada, quizas antes de aprender las bases del idioma, aprendas a como es vivir en Brasil, como comprar, como funciona el sistema de transporte, si hay una tarjeta de colectivo para viajar en la ciudad, muchas cosas que te va a dar tu propia investigación y ahi vas a saber que tenes que aprender del idioma, por ahi ver noticieros de brasil, ver noticias de brasil, leer el portugues de como comunican los periodistas brasileros te va a dar mas cancha que una aplicacion, las apps reemplazaron a las academias o escuelas, pero la vida real sigue estando ahi, capaz lo mejor seria ir directo a la vida real

the gluten in soy sauce is not really ✨️gluten✨️, there's sooooooo little that even my mom with celiac disease can eat it, so I wouldn't count soy as gluten :))) but idk how strict you want to be el oh el

well if you want some challenge, the carioca's accent is more difficult. if you dont, paulista's accent its better tho. i have the baiano's accent (from Bahia), but i think that the carioca its prettier than the paulista!!! and obviously, baiano is the best of the best, top 1 😂😂

I’ve always had some problems with gluten and cutting it out makes me feel much better!!

I really support your goals, but I must say that you are being very extreme with your ‘diet’ goals. Veganism is not for everyone, especially for those that aren’t meticulous enough to be tracking their (in)adequate consumption of vitamins and minerals religiously. There’s a reason you didn’t stay vegan, it just doesn’t work for you and it will mentally and physically drain you - especially because you’re not that kind of person that would like tracking everything. Maybe you want to be, but to me you seem like an intuitive eater which is GREAT. And all this American nonsense with avoiding gluten - girl, you’re gonna make yourself miserable. If I were you I’d just focus on eating healthy wholefoods most of the time (for example following the rule of 5 pieces of fruit and veg per day) and having comfort meals when u feel like it. Don’t exhaust yourself with fad diets, because you’ve got a long list of goals to achieve. And you need energy for that!
