Go-Kart Tie Rod Placement | Minimizing Bump Steer | TYRANIS TIPS

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is BREIF explanation of bump steer and how to avoid it with proper tie rod placement when designing the front end of your go-kart! If you'd like a more in depth video explanation of the design considerations that go into minimizing bump steer, or anything else for that matter, let us know in the comments!

Dude. I keep having questions that pop up in my head about my upcoming go kart build, AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW?!?!?! You have a video on each one

I have a steering issue with my go cart. When I accelerate my front tires toe out. And same with braking, it toes out under hard braking. My alignment constantly gets messed up. Do I need a new steering rack? If so, which is a good one?

It also makes the steering lighter as well,I know that in my Holden VY SS Commodore the tie rods aren't near parallel with the steering knuckles & the steering rack sits lower than what the steering knuckles do The problem is due to the fact that the lowest Holden lowered the suspension was 1-1.5 inches below the standard FE1 suspension package which is the FE2 suspension package & my car has 30 millimetre (about 1 1/2") lowered springs fitted which is 30 Millimetres lower than the FE2 suspension package. So,the FE2 suspension equipped VY Commodore sits 180 Millimetres above the ground whereas the 30 Millimetre lowered springs cause the car to sit 150 Millimetres above the ground. Refitting the FE2 springs will make the steering lighter & it may also correct the positive castor which is 1/2° out at about 9 1/2° when the maximum Castor should be 9° !

*Stupid Question? #1):* Can a set of coiled over shocks incorporeted into (As part of) the tie rod ends... thus allowing some restricted play in tie rod lengths, could while turning "give" conpensation for the bumping, fighting or grabbing (whatever its called) that the wheels experience to the pavement when turning? I have 4" coil over shocks and ok can adjust tension. ( I cannot see it causing any problem off road IF Stiff enough) *Stupid Question #2):* Because I desire the steering assembly to be in front of the spindles, will that possibly cause anti~ankermann steering thus disrupting by bum, bump, or grabbing steering, or what ever thats called? *Stupid Question #3):* If I include a slight but metered articulatuon of my oositractuon rear wheels angle in accordance with the front steering (renember -- slightly) will that off set the wheel grab while turning, making it more compliant with on and off rosad bum, bump, grabbing road surface? *Stupid Question #4):* Will toe in or Toe Out make a difference according to which setups i try? *Stypid Questuon #5): I have seen some *Reverse Lean *Systems* and wonder how beneficial that would work for or against any of these applications? Due to ideas i am currently working on with magnetic bearrings ans angular gyroscopic power, I am seeking a directional power through the use of gyros the idea is the get them to Fight one another to cause a desired directional force on ground then upward, fighhting gravity while increasing. Stability. My plan is gaining angular force in all directions excep ONE.

much travel. Evrything says it should work. 2 ~ 12 tooth centrifug clutches more than enough power that even removing the govenors should increase effectiveness allowing an airconditioner, a Power Takeoff, nigbeel and what ever else i can hook up to it *just not all at once *:
