I haven't driven for 15 years. I went snowboarding again and need a new board. I snowboarded more when I was a teenager, so I'm not a complete beginner. Would this board be for me to get back in and make progress. I like powdering and normal pistes. And which longer would you recommend for me, I'm 187cm and 86kg. Thanks for your reviews, I've seen a lot of them.

Ok we are skipping a ton of steps and I need a lot more to help you properly. Otherwise you might make a bad purchase. From what little I know I'd say no on the Banked Country. Hit me here so I can learn enough about you to make real recommendations. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

Nice one as always Beastie. Torn between this and the Lib Rig to replace the Orca. ..Seems the Rig has a good deal more early rise than the Banked, and that’s about the extent of the difference. More pow, go Rig - More hardpack, go Banked, you think?

Many Thanks! Rode the Lib Rig (way behind on reviews) and it definitely feels a little bigger/wider size vs. size. For example, I felt the 156 Lib Rig is more comparable to the 159 Banked Country. Yeah I would agree with your last sentence if these fit your specs.

Very grateful for the reply dude. And thank you also for your thorough and consistent reviewing over the years. It is hard to shift away from the Orca because it can do so much but it feels wrong buying the same deck twice! Keen to go C3 and with a slightly longer tail - a more centred Gremlin almost ...and somehow have wound up looking at a Wide Banked Country to fit the bill. Will miss the 7m radius and tight tree performance but hoping renewed pop and extra grip on steeps will make up for it. Cheers @@thegoodridesnow

Great review as always! I’m a big Gremlin fan, would this be a “step up” in regards to stiffness/stability or just stay on the Gremlin? Local mountain is Mammoth and I’m on a 155 Gremlin right now and was looking at the 160W BC. Thank you!

Many thanks! It's kind of a stretched out/narrowed Gremlin if you size each correctly. Could be fun if you have another board for pow. Used to ride Mammoth for many years and that place can get deep. Hit me up here if you want to get into it more and figure out if this is right for you.

@@thegoodridesnow thank you for the fast reply, much appreciated! I have a Slush Slasher and Party Wave Plus for the deep days, especially last season when we were literally buried in goodness lol! Thinking the BC would be an excellent addition to the quiver and fun daily driver here.

This vs the alchemist, what’s your choice?

Two very different boards but we like both a lot for different reasons. Banked country has a very different turning radius (much more turny), flex and much more camber. It has a lot more grip with the disrupted sidecut as well. The Alchemist is stiffer and likes to go straight more. It's more damp at speed too. So if you like to go fast and don't turn as much go Alchemist. If you like to turn a lot go Banked country.
