I'm delighted to see that you are playing this one as co-op with Jay rather than solo Ash. If it goes even half as well as my co-op games of 5 Parsecs, it will be great. Dipping into pop culture stories to explain why X happened to Y makes the co-op experience particularly special I think.
A very flexible game, the map generates itself, you can tweak it to your liking, include more rpg elements and you can even solo it! Running a campaign right now with the expansion.
If it makes you feel any better I randomly generated my warband and one on the heroes is a Halfling Frontiersman. 👍 Sir Dane and his companions are ready for adventure!

Mixing this with situation generating materials like Raging Swan Press makes is awesome, you can quickly generate just about any situation you want or let it just be random.

@@arthurmensing3869 From RSP? most everything, they have awesome supplements for enemy types and group compositions, as well as scene/ location setting. the GM's Miscellany line has a lot of "XX Dressing" books, like "Urban Dressing" that have random tables for generating environments and encounters. Really all around their supplements are top quality.
Love the review- surprised you hadn’t done it sooner. Looking forward to your stories in the world you create.

I waited for the physical copy to arrive!
Nice looking book, really like the size, I may need to grab a physical copy of this for the collection.
Thanks for the video. My friend and I have been playing this co-op since the PDF has been available in the summer. It's the first tabletop wargame he's ever played and he's loving it!
Looks very interesting, gonna watch a few videos and see how the combat plays out. Look forward to seeing your warband adventure
Yes! Love this game. Wish I could've of play it more often. Glad you are starting a series for it
I recently got into 5 Parsecs, and love how you can fill in some of the details. Looking to pick up 5 Leagues next.
I absolutely adore this game but man is melee combat brutal. I’ve lost 2 warbands already and am on my third campaign right now. Would recommend buying a bunch of slings for everyone who doesn’t already have a bow as early as you can.

My friend and I have had decent success with having a designated blocker with good armor and a shield to parry and a buddy behind him for combat bonus, and then everyone else in firing positions behind them.
I've been playing Parsecs with a buddy, but Leagues 3rd edition by myself for about six months now and it's very enjoyable.
This looks very much like an insta-buy - looking forward to seeing you play through, especially with the prospect of some bonus Jay fun!

Was thinking the same thing. How have I never heard about this? It sounds like it might scratch the itch that Frostgrave never quite reached. Like I might get to use all those random monster/terrain STLs that I have accumulated.
Really looking forwards to your reports! Also hope you will be doing 5 Parsecs from home! 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Wow. This looks great. Thanks Ash
Class ,I'm looking forward to seeing your campaign.
I bought this awhile ago (preordered so got the pdf immediately) and it is a blast, can be harsh, I had a death real fast. Watch out for getting too outnumbered, things can snowball, don't be afraid to run !
Wooo! Hooo! I've been looking forward to a review of this; and now I'm looking forward to Jay & Ash's Big Adventure.
Very interesting review. Thank you very much. I have heard about this game without realizing it's potential before you show it.
I've wanted to play this as a means to do a co-op adventure into the city of Mordheim

I've just started getting into this myself.
0:25 Rodiphius? Ruh-roh! 🤣😜
Looking forward to this. I have played a bit of 5 Parsecs and it was interesting.
Curious to hear about this one. I just can't see 5parsecs working great with two players, so I'm hopeful this works a little better for that.
Very keen to see the playthroughs of this. One concern I have is that this may be like.....the Advanced adventure game. Like, its going to be fun to be the author of your own fate, but without the experience of a few systems (granted, I really only have Silver Tower so far) under your belt then this may be a tad dense. Cant wait to find out how it is!
This is cool. Is there a list of the typical scenery elements you would need for a campaign?

Just picked it up today not knowing what it is, this helps a lot lol
I'm considering either this or Rangers of Shadowdeep. What are the big differences?
So I've started playing this recently, and I'm curious if anyone knows which enemy table I use when my warband is at a monster lair? the scenario doesn't note it. Do I use Aberrations?
So they're not from the frontier, let the crew cook Ash! 😁
Is it possible to still buy the physical book anywhere it looks very nicely laid out
Ash!! Gotta question - Could you use Orcs and Goblins as the main enemies and how would you go about it?

If you like solo gaming, I suggest checking out Ash's many solo games of Mork Borg 😄
What is the structure of a group/characters if multiple players are running a co-op game? Also, how does the combat being so brutal interact with the idea of a solo/co-op adventure, and what is the combat AI? I feel like those are important things that might have gotten glossed over or missed.

you get 4 heroes and 2 followers in a party, for each player they get a hero, and you can divide the controls of the rest of the party however you want, so for example if you were playing with 2 people, you could each have 2 heroes and 1 follower. one of each of your heroes would be an Avatar.
@Vorpal_Wit

@@LumberingTroll Ok, thnx. My concern then would be, if combat is so brutal, am I going to be rolling up new Heroes constantly, given each player has so few?
@LumberingTroll
Жыл бұрын
@@Vorpal_Wit Potentially yes, but there is an option to play with multiple wounds, the game in general is meant to be hard, almost rogue-like. you can mitigate a lot of the danger by playing smart and staying close together as you get modifiers from being supported by friendlies.

It definitely goes deeper than Five Parsecs and has a more involved close combat system than Five Parsecs, but I still end up playing 5P more often. Both games accomplish what they set up to do. I do like that the starter adventure is included in the main 5L rulebook instead of the expansion like 5P.
