Excellent information. Though I've done most all the maintenance on our vehicles, I've never know about that filter!??!...... So thank you for doing this video! Keep up the good work
It's funny you say that cos I run into the same thing all the time. I'll watch some videos to find where everything is and how to do it and they always make it seem so easy till I get in there. Then it take 3 hours for what should be 30 minutes according to them. Nice video thanks! I am really glad I watched your video the other one I watched said nothing about that filter so I will make sure I change that out as well.
Great video, just replaced mine today and dropped the damn filter behind the block in the great unknown. Bought a new filter and got everything back together. Works great, thanks for video

I also used a 45 degree pick to grab the old filter out and dropped that one as well.... but it all worked out I guess haha

Question? What parts store carries this disappearing filter?
If you use one of those grab tools to fish something out of a tight spot that has the button when you press it has four little prongs that come out and expand perfect for taking the filter out
Great advice
Thanks bro!💪
thanks a lot I have maybe the same problem in my Suburban 2012 oil pressure reaches full level but where is this filter fit thanks .

Lost my extention trying to attach the socket. It's back there somewhere. This is so frustrating. KZread guys be like yeah it's way easy. And my thumb is a cut up from that plug
thanks
The screen doesn't change, it was the same on my old 2001 Yukon xl. And the best way to get the old one out and new one in is by using a bolt

I figured that out after changing the sensor! I pulled my screen out with a paper clip bent into a hook... hopefully I won’t have to do that again for the life of the truck!
Thnx!

No problem 👍
Hope u didn't drop the fish hook in the block...maybe get a hold of some mechanic picks. They r more useful than I ever realized once I got em...I could have never done the Trans lines on my 06 silverado w/out them...
I'm changing mine right now my old Ford don't have one

Sorry not forward but I'm changing mind right now and it don't have the filter It's 5.3 Chevrolet
My 05 GMC doesn't have a filter, from the factory.
Maybe the O-ring oil pipe to flat outside ?
One thing nobody's talking about is just cut that plastic damper behind the engine to get access to sensor, pair of yellow snips works .That damper is just a noise blocker for cab ,now i can get access any time

That’s a great idea!! Thanks!
Use a long bolt to screw in the top the filter! Just enough for it to grab and pulls right out !

Will that oil pressure sensor cause a leak
@memfisher6928
Жыл бұрын
Yes, mine leaked like a rear main seal drip until it got worse then started causing a pool of oil dripping off my shift linkage
I have a 2017 model with the same problem.. you think they would've made it better by now right? Anyway.. I can't locate the screen.. I've checked for videos but no one has one on a 2017 model. And it's different from the older models.

That stinks! I wonder if someone on here can share their experience? Do you think it is there and you just can't fish it out? I actually used my phone on video and stuck it back where the sensor is and could see the filter in there...
someone said that the filter comes with the new sensor....No???? Did you buy aftermarket or from GM?
@tpctao

I did buy an aftermarket sensor and it did not come with the filter.
Is it true that that filter only applies to engines that are 2007 L?

How far does the filter go down into the motor

It is seated right underneath the sensor.

I Have a used 07 classic silverado. 5.3. I dug around for a minute and never could feel the filter. So swapped the sensor and its been fine. But min was showing high oil pressure 80psi when running and when just having the ignition on it would read 50 its working fine now@@CarlosGARCIA-nz3eu
Does 2018 Suburban Have Fileter screen ????
@tpctao

Not sure… it should be pretty easy to check though. Use a hooked tool or paper clip like I did and you should catch it pretty easily.
Don’t actually need the filter!! That’s what plugs up!!

You dirent show where it is the presure filter
@tpctao

The filter is found right under the pressure sensor. Once the sensor is removed you can use some sort of hook to get the filter out.
Rip the filter out and don't put one back in
