How do you adjust the preloade

How do you adjust it after assembling everything togerther? The only guide I found tells that it must be screwed in until input shaft rotates with a force of 6-10 in ft (0.7 - 1.1 Nm), but the gearbox must be dry, pitman shaft adjustment backed off, etc.

I just reworked everything back the way it was didn’t mess with any of the adjustment or anything. I don’t think

Yes sir it’s pretty self-explanatory. It’s just a worm gear inside. If you have some ears on that gearbox you might want to adjust the gearbox anyways by having somebody inside turn the wheel left to right left to right while you’re adjusting the screw with an Allen wrench in the center, you don’t want it too tight though

Any one have any ideas to getting out the adjuster with the two holes drilled on the front of it? I have tried everything I have to get it off! Heat, pb blaster, hammer with a punch, pliers etc and it won’t budge.

Not sure if you have access to a welder you might be able to make a little spanner tool for it that’s what I have to do to get mine free

Trying to figure out why I can’t get the cylinder to screw back in as far as it was before taking it out

Did you tighten to the right pre load? Also was there any wear marks on the steering shaft where the seal rides? maybe a little Emory cloth sand. Also I have seen some seals dry up on the shelf. Keep us posted. And good luck!

@@alexlowvatoi clean it well it look smooth n clean no damaged i came to auto parts and they say to take it out n put it back in and add some sealer so im gna tap it more and see how that turns thanks bro

@@alexlowvato so i took the gear box out again today i tapped the seal more n it seem that it went further in this time and i added a sealer around it from the inside part im letting it dry over night n tomorrow ill put it back and see how that goes 👍🏻 (if it doesn’t work ima have to take it n get it fix )

@@alexlowvato hey i fix the leak finally! i had pushed the gasket further n added sealer andf it leaks a lil from the meatsl polygon plate so i feel that if i tight it more itll fix the leak 👍🏻🇺🇸
