I have listened to this performance dozens of times in the last few months. Trying to put into words what I like so much about it. The tempo is just right. Subtle rubato, just enough. Very expressive light touch in the right hand, carrying the main melody. Equally expressive handling of the left hand--try this--play this over and ignore the melody in the right hand, listen just to the left hand, it's a melody in itself--not reduced to an "oom-pah oom-pah" sound as in many other performances, so it becomes counterpoint as in Bach, not just a rhytmic accompaniment. Also, visually, I like the smile on Noelia's face, she seems to be really enjoying playing this, not just knocking it out. Wow!

Agreed, this performance is sheer magic. I've listened to it many times. She makes every note sing. It's also stately and elegant, like a court dance. It stands apart from the other performances on KZread.

What wonderful music written by Gluck. The sentiment and the harmony of this great pianist are amazing, and the music fabulous and sublime. Unforgettable moments of pleasure when we heard this magnificent music. Bravissimo.

What a wonderful way to wake up after discovering this. You have perfectly given this piece to me this morning. I remember reading about characters in "Scarlet Pimpernel" book going to the opera where "Gluck" was playing. I was always curious what that was.

Mademoiselle, Je viens vous rendre un hommage de Bretagne: Ayant récemment redécouvert la "Mélodie" de Gluck, j'ai voulu en trouver une belle interprétation pour inciter ma fille à l'apprendre; J'ai ainsi fait le tour de You Tube, et je peux vous dire ceci: Vous n'êtes peut être pas la plus belle des interprètes de cette pièce, mais vous êtes à coup sûr la plus intelligente, la plus profonde et la plus gracieuse: Votre interprétation dépasse de loin la bonne vingtaine que j'ai entendues, y compris celle du grand Rachmaninov lui-même. Vous m'avez subjugué de façon si intense que je ne peux m'empêcher de vous en rendre hommage, et je pense que le monde du piano vous verra bientôt monter jusqu'à son firmament...

Pero siento que estoy más de acuerdo con esta expresión. No sé si sobra decir que tu interpretación es sublime, enormemente sensible y hermosa. Pienso que no. También es cierto que no se puede expresar con palabras una emoción sin nombre... cuando la percepción lineal del tiempo se altera porque al escucharte no hay un dónde, cuándo ni por qué, sólo emociones sonoras. El arreglo de Sgambati, para mí, es insuperable. Lo que tú comunicas con tu voz interna a través del piano, también. Como dije, gracias por compartirlo conmigo. He recibido este mensaje sonoro que exhibe tanto sobre tu inteligencia, sensibilidad, extremo perfeccionismo, vocación, talento, dedicación y tu autoconocimiento que a pesar de ser un instante congelado en el tiempo, emana arte. P.S. Traté de ser menos pedante, menos solemne, pero en cada situación sale lo que sale. ¡Menudo subidón de ñoñez y verborrea que me has provocado, hija! :)

Yuja Wang's performance is really good, as is everything she does, she's a great musician, a world treasure. In my personal opinion this performance by Noelia Rodiles is just about perfect. I've listened to it many times. The right tempo, great balance between the left and right hands, amazing timing of the left hand with respect to the right, and above all, the sense that the music is coming straight from her soul. Wow.

A bit slower than e.g. Y.Wang version, but perfect.

Hers is very different from Yuja Wang. I like when a piece is played beautifully in two totally different ways.

I find this rendition much superior to Wang’s, which sounds rushed and somewhat mechanical.
