Seriously this is so helpful. Getting ready to wrap the rest of my mk4 jetta. Good to see other ppl still love their Jetta like I do!

Nice to see a lower end car get wrapped. The net is brimming with exotic/high end cars getting wrapped which in theory may seem nice to the eyes but in reality majority of us can't afford such cars and so we would like to see our own type of cars that we can afford getting wrapped! Superb wrapping CK, keep up the great work!!!

the reason you dont see it, is because most people who have such crappy cars cant afford a basic color wrap, let alone a chrome wrap. that wrap probably costs half of the value of that beater or more. not a lot of people are going to see the sense in spending so much money on it.

I wrapped my MK5 Jetta with Gloss Black Vvivid XPO vinyl about 2 years ago (the car was originally black, but faded and oxydized)....still looks great, no fading, no rock chips, no tearing. I still get compliments on how good of shape my car is in for being an 06' with 300,000 miles. If I decide to do it again, the only thing I would do differently is I would do it indoors (I wrapped mine in my driveway with the help of my high school aged foreign exchange student). It came out great, just slow going. Overall cost was about $300.00 including the vinyl and a small Amazon vinyl tool kit.

when you do the whole side at once, do you cut in the middle of the gaps of the doors? Does that leave enough film to roll over the edge where you cant see it from the outside?

Julian Moore you don’t cut right down the middle, you just hug one door with the blade and angle it, it should leave enough to tuck over if you do it correctly. However, because this is a blue wrap on a blue car it is less likely to be noticeable if you see he paint color around an edge whereas if it was a white car it would stand out a lot more

Well in this instance yes he's cutting down the middle. This is to allow enough vinyl for both sides of the door edge. He's probably using the Sassercut blade to cut perfectly in the middle - a tool he mentions in a previous video. The method you're talking about only applied if you're wrapping one section at a time. Because if you cut to the edge - one panel will have enough vinyl and the other will not.

You will probably need 13 meters, it is like 43 ft

+Chris Klaus I don't normally recommend it. This is blue over blue so there isn't as much to hide when looking at the car from the outside. This is the first time I've done a full peel with chrome and wanted to try it out

CK Wraps seem to work just fine. I'm sure if the environment is controlled then there shouldn't be a problem.

It can save a lot of material if you do it this way, but if you mess up it can also waste a lot of material believe it or not. Plus it just really takes the time it takes to wrap a car down a lot.

What is the cost of this and is it less expensive than a paint job?

Depends on what kind of paint job you are looking at getting. A roll of chrome is 2500-3k just for the film

That color shows the existing damage on the front right fender why I didn't do a I'm a metallic on my MK4😂😂😂😂

id probably say a 50 ft roll.....thats gives you 300 sq ft....a little extra incase you mess up. Plus with a material like chrome you have to sometimes put a couple pieces kind of like what you saw with the trunk lid.

Why didn’t you cut out the windows to save vinyl? Is it because it’s chrome and it messes up when you cut pieces ?

XxbDgxXLiLReDAK if you cut out the windows first you can't get an even stretch when you're trying to glass out the film. It becomes much harder

nice im tryna see that tiffany satin chrome blue wrap get laid down on something

those rims stand out 1000x more now lol almost more attention grabbing than the wrap 🤦
