I saw Marcus fight in Trenton and your statement is absolutely correct. He lost that night but the dude looked so focused and filled with fire and concentration. He should be more popular.

the scoring.. the landed & thrown ... didn't look like that to me. i don't know, but the scoring looks messed up & 1 judge even sided with wilnis.

What is this 'no holding' rule bs about? I thought you were allowed to catch then immediately strike, which is what both fighters were doing?

adnatal I guess they fought under the rules of different kickboxing federation. Cuz in the biggest ones you on;y can't sweep, but it's ok to kick opponent's leg after you catch his leg.

adnatal Yeah, I wish Glory would ease off some of the restrictions on traditional Thai moves. Sweeps are exciting and being able to "hold" is a secure way to get a sweep. Each referee will unfortunately have a different perception of what is "immidate" and what is a "hold". I'm actually fine with the clinch time restriction and no elbows, but I love me some sweeps! So I too wish the refs would cut the fighters some slack when they are obviously going for a sweep, not just holding on.

precioustraveler I agree completely with this; elbows create a big possibility for cuts ending fights early and the constant clinching of the thai style may seem boring to some but a quick sweep after clinching seems fine to me.
