Some are going to love the Glock 36, and some are going to have problems with it due to their own physiology. Limp Wristing isn't a problem with the firearm...It's a problem with the shooter's physiology. In that case, there are other brands and model options that might be more appropriate for them. Matching a firearm to the shooter is the issue with respect to the model 36, and that's often the issue with most pistols. I have a Glock 36, and it's one of the most accurate, comfortable to shoot, and reliable high caliber compact handguns I've ever shot. When I shoot my Glock 36, I'm always impressed with how it absorbs recoil, where the next guy might say it's too snappy. It's physiology....

My 36 is the most reliable handgun i ever owned. Never had a malfunction. I can shoot it more accurately that my Glock 19. Why, i dont know. Very underrated i imagine because of capacity. 7 for sure shots beats 15 maybes.

The new glock 36 with a rail light no breaking in right out of the box they eat up any kind of 45 ACP ammo you put in even the Russian steel case ammo which I don't recommend they use cheap gunpowder and other products in it it just smokes up your whole gun and makes it dirty for a few dollars more get the great good ammo for it but anyway 1911 is just a heavy gun too many safeties and the price is way over a thousand dollars today a new Glock with two six shot magazines they're about $600 you could find them cheaper but they're hard to get they're very well in demand so if you find one grab it and keep it you could carry them for years and years without even knowing the gun is on you I recommend them

That opening group you shot was phenominal. Especially with all these talks about 5th gens being so accurate with the marksman barrel. I own a 26 thats a 4th gen and its a tack driver. Every glock ive owned has been a tack driver. Very nice grouping and cool vid!

I have the 36 and like it though it is more snappy than the 30. The bonus with the 36 is that if you own the G19 the 36 will fit the same holsters and mag carriers. The 30 seemed to carry like a brick on my side but the 36 works for me.

FYI: Hickok45 has a vid where he swaps G36 & G30 slide assemblys & both guns function. As a matter of fact you can purchase from Glock a G30 with a G36 slide on it which is the G30S (for Slim), not the SF model which is the Short Frame G30 model (shorter distance from backstrap to the trigger face for short fingered folks like me). I have a G30S SF (Slim- Short Frame) which combines all the above! Cool huh. 👍😋🇺🇸

Wow! That was a great group you shot at the beginning of the vid. This looks like a pistol I could comfortably shoot too. I never cared for the G-30 because it just didn't fit my hand with it's short, double-stack grip. I have the 45 caliber G-21 and 10mm caliber G-20 both of which I really like primarily due to the longer (standard) grip which I feel I need to control the recoil, especially with the hotter 10mm Underwood ammo which I prefer for the G-20

I had a 36 and I have a 30, other than the weight of a fully loaded gun I can’t really tell a difference. Now I’m 6’5" and I have larger hands than most, but I really didn’t notice a difference other than the weight. I would have kept the 36 but the guy that sold it to me seemed to have stolen it from his father, and because of that I was forced to give it up. The weird part to this is his father was a police officer, and the guy never faced any charges for taking it, but his ungrateful father never forced him to reimbursed me for the money. I have a lawyer friend that told me suing in small claims would be pointless if I had no bill of sale, and the receiving stolen property aspect might be turned on me since his dad was a cop. So you can make determinations on your own about that, but for that reason I don’t have a 36 anymore, sorry for venting. I do have a 30 and it’s a great gun, and it will take the mags from my Glock 21, which is the back up mag I carry when I carry the 30.

I like your videos. Good presentation style. One thing I think reviewers should start doing is quantifying the length of pull on pistols. Just eyeball a ruler from the face of the trigger to the place where your 'thumbpit' goes. Once you have that you can compare a gun being discussed to one you have. When people are researching a purchase they love all the data they can get.

I wish Glock would make a 36 variant that had a grip for all 3 fingers while keeping the slim single-stack profile....like the grip length from the 26 frame to the 19 frame. You could probably get 8 or 10 rounds out of it while still keeping it concealable. I'd sell my Glock 22 and buy one.

People don’t like factory Glock sights because they work against tradition sight practice of front sight focus. The big white U in the back distracts from the front sight contrast. Many people take a sharpie and black out the rear sight. That’s why there’s many many aftermarket sights that have all back rear sights. Personally I like XS big dots, or a RMR. Even on my sub compacts.

I have a 36 with night sights. I added the Pearce grip extensions to the mags (just the grip extension version, not the ones that increase the max number of rounds by one). They add more surface area for your your pinky finger and work pretty good. I also added a thin rubber grip glove. With the two combined, it makes it easier to shoot one handed (and two handed).

What type of ammo do you recommend for the shooting range?

  • @HammerStriker

    @HammerStriker

    6 жыл бұрын

The good thing about Glocks is that they will eat most anything. For just daily practice/fun, most any 115gr "range ammo" you buy in bulk online or at the range desk will work. American Eagle is a very high quality ammo. The assorted "white box" by various manufacturers work well too. CCI Blazer Brass can often be found online in bulk very inexpensively and works well. I always avoid steel-cased ammo (except in an AK) as it can scratch and over time the lacquer used to prevent corrosion will build up. I also avoid reloads (many ranges prohibit them anyway) for safety and reliability. +P+ is not a good idea either, though Glocks will tolerate it. +P actually has a defined "over-pressure range" that has an upper limit established and many guns have no trouble with using it safely. +P+ is basically somewhere between the upper limit for +P and Kaboom.

Sometimes an inconsistent trigger pull will cause stove-piping. I shoot mine and it performs flawless. My wife shoots it and it’ll stove-pipe.

That is interesting, even their site shows it without a rail. But this one definitely has one. It is a Blue Label gun, but those are usually not any different than the retail guns other than price and sometimes number of mags. It is also very recent, so not sure if they made a change mid-stream.

Hammer Striker looks good with the rail, regardless. How is the shootability? I picked up a glock 30 that shoots awesome, compared to my shield 45 that kicks like a mule

Hammer Striker shootability is important to me. I argue with my buddy constantly about it. I feel like its important that the weapon inspires confidence in the shooter that they can reliably deliver effective hits. Id rather 6 rounds with a predictable flight path, versus more rounds that are flying wherever.

It is very controllable and the recoil is managable, but it is definitely snappier than the Glock 30. The G30 seems to absorb the recoil very well, the G36 leaves a little more for your hand to deal with. I agree with your stance that effective hits from a gun you are good with are better than quantity if you have to choose between them. If you have a gun that you personally can shoot well, you will do far better than one that can simply spray a lot of lead. Having more is nice, but train - train - train to put what you have where it needs to go. This gun is not a beginner's gun, it is very capable of tight groups but more work to control than a G30 or other gun.

Hammer Striker the beauty of having multiple guns, in multiple orientations, is that it allows you to chose based on how youre feeling that day. Usually i will have a single stack on me, and a double stack in my backpack. I picked up an xd9sc a few weeks ago for $270 with 3 mags. Meaty little gun is too fat for me to carry it as a 9mm double stack, but it excels as a truck/backpack gun. Ive had several xd guns over the years, and theyre great guns. Personally, my most comfy double stack to carry on my person is the g26. Hard to beat

Compared to the G36 the G38 is better. Almost the same size but the G38 has 8 shots. AND the 45 GAP is more powerful than regular 45 ACP.

They added the rail without changing the "Gen", basically just a mid-model upgrade. All new ones should have the rail slot.

Those are not average sized hands. I have medium sized hands and my ring finger doesn’t reach to the half way point of the grip like yours does. You have large hands. Trust me. You will not be able to wear a medium size glove like I can. A small size glove is too small for me and a large is too big. I used a dremmel sanding band to reduce the grip enough so that I could get a better purchase on the grip. This is one pistol I will keep.

What kind of form factor is that? Form factor for kamikaze murderers? For self-defence or gunfight it lacks magazine capasity and barrel length.
