That was some serious extortion, but at least you're helping the locals I suppose. When they give a figure, act surprised as if it were a crazy amount, counter offer something ridiculously low. When they get surprised, ask them for a reasonable price and negotiate from there. Have a max figure in your head and don't budge once they try to exceed that. Good luck.

I liked this video because it's very specific on where to shop. I think it would be even more useful if Marie Claire included tips on HOW to shop in other countries where those other countries might have a different take on the art of shopping. I would have loved to see some tips on haggling Marrakech style.

Everything seemed so expensive. I'm going to Morocco soon In sha allha. . Don't think I'll be shopping much!!!!!

Yes, A ludicrous price to pay......all the shops are filled with imitation 'antiques' designed to sell to westerners. I could even hear the guilt in the vendors voice when he momentarily pauses between 1000 and 1200 dirhams . Still she had fun.

I liked this video because it's very specific on where to shop.
