This tutorial is quality man. I'm a total AE beginner and most tutorials just assume you know every hotkey every shortcut everything. With this tutorial i could follow it all, thank you so much!

Best glitch tutorial i've seen so far, some others are less complicated but this gives me the best personalization options and without using third parts contents or plugins!

The 2:39 graph it's the speed graph. If you are in the value graph you have to right click in the graph editor and change the mode.

Right click on your Graph area, and choose Edit Speed Graph.

I found the solution in one of his old response to his comments : " Either you can make the background size 200% (Change scale value to 200%) Or, Select all the Layers (Except Background), and Pre Compose them, "

Precompose the whole thing except the background into one layer. This happened because an adjustment layer places the effect on all the layers underneath it.

Sick!!! Yeah the voice alt oddly makes it super easy to learn! I can relate to the synthetic voice for some reason.

i just made the background solid a lot bigger than the canvas, so the edges that were affected are out of frame

Select all of the Layers, Except the Background layer. Right click on it, and Select Pre-Compose. :)

You can also make sure that your actual composition background color matches the background solid you made. For example @Avnish Parker uses 111111 for his Background solid set your composition background to the same value and the Glitch effect will no longer 'appear' to apply to the background. Composition -> Composition Settings or simply press Ctrl+K

Nice tutorial! But at 2:38 my graph does not look like that. It's weird because first you increase the scale, then you return to 100% and in your graph it looks like a parable, meaning that your logo goes from 100% then about -450% and return to 100%, and that's not what happen. Thanks for tutorial man!

what about normal videos? because time*3000 makes the fractal noise stop at 0:12 second, setting it to time*1000 makes it 30 seconds but also slows down the effect

I foud a fix bro you have to add this expression, and change the time from *200 to *3000 or whatever needed. (i dont know why this works but it does.) rev=360 * effect("Fractal Noise")("Cycle (in Revolutions)"); t= (time*200)%rev;

Once you get the script bar to pop up go to the end of the end of the effect("Fractal Noise")(24) code hit enter to start a new line of code then type in time*3000. Make sure the t is lower case. To get the script bar to pop up on the mac you hold option and click on the keyframe button.
