Jake is so on point, even when he improvises.

For those asking about Camera 3, he's the camera man for the pit lane reporter. The main presenters get cameras 1 and 2. The pit lane reporter isn't broadcasting at this point so camera 3 isn't needed.

Lufferov frankly it’s incredible they do the show with two cameras and the world feed. Shows what can be done with good direction and good VTs at the ready

Love the pressure of all that. True pros. I couldn't cope with all that chat in my ear the whole time! Wow!

In case you're wondering, the producer (the man talking that isn't the presenter) can control when he speaks to the presenter using a button to control the talkback, so the presenter doesn't have to talk with the producer talking at the same time.

Actually Jake's said in a previous blog post that like most TV news presenters he uses open talkback and not switched talkback, so he's hearing all of this going on while he's talking. The other two co-presenters are on switched talkback but the main presenter really should be on open so he can hear what is going on and hear all of the cues and problems before they occur. Also the man talking is actually the director, not the producer. His mic is up all of the time.

Mark Pentler Ah fair enough, I can see why having it open is advantageous. The man talking is a producer that is also directing the broadcast. It's a BBC thing, promise!

D Evans Thanks for this, I assumed this was the case but nice to see it. And again, always worth pointing out that thanks to his days on CBBC Jake prefers open talkback. Which is nuts to work with, I couldn't do it. I've tried and my brain melted.

I've no idea how they do it, just flowing with all the facts, figures, jokes, reactions, insights, intros, exits all on the fly whilst everyone is gibbering on in your ear, I'd go mad. Hats off to to all of them, although I suspect Eddie just turned up and winged it with whatever came out of his mouth with no feedback in his ear.

Wish I could replace the bloke who's on camera 3.

Pretty hectic, to present a program while someone is talking in your ear

Does TX stand for transmission? I know it’s the program monitor but we call it program in the US.

Far, far cry from what happened after Humphrey left.
