The film inspired the Pet Shop Boys song "Suburbia."

I watched this movie when I was a kid in high school around 1990. Back then whatever you saw on TV was what you perceived things were like. You didn’t have Reddit, KZread, etc to get a sense of what it’s like in other cities or states unless you went there. Now looking back, the review was spot on. The best and most memorable parts I think we all cherish are the band performances. RIP Steven Ronald "Stevo" Jensen 💙

You tripped me out when you mentioned TSOL. they are actually the reason I got into Misfits. I used to play the TSOL album revenge over and over then one day my friend played London dungeon by Misfits. I remember thinking London dungeon sounded like tsol but little did I know none of the other Misfits songs sounded like that. It didn't matter because I took home his classics one album and immediately fell in love with Astro zombies teenagers from Mars and skulls.

TBF, if you want true TSOL, it's the original two album lineup with Grisham. That's the era from Suburbia. They were very influenced by the Damned, as were likes of the Agnew brothers, Adolescents, D.I. 45 Grave etc.

Revenge and Change Today are great records, but much like the Misfits, I wish they weren't under the name of the original band. Disappear and Divded We Stand are excellent records too.

My friends and I religiously watched Suburbia, Decline of Western Civilization, and Another State of mind back in the 80s. Being from the East Coast it's how I was introduced to a lot of bands in the west coast scene. I totally get no that Suburbia was corny, especially for Danzig watching it when he was about 28 years old when it came out, but being a teen back then it was something cool that I related to.

LOVE Suburbia! Aspects are exploited, but I don't really find it cheesy in the least. Full of grit along with that grim, grim ending. Whew... If you haven't checked it out yet Jeff, the book Destroy All Movies is a fantastic guide to Punk movies, ...even featuring movies featuring a single Punk. Of all people they even managed to interview the guy who played the Punk in Star Trek 4!

As a right winger and Misfits/Glenn fan since ‘99, I loved finding out that Michale Graves is right wing (speaks truth) and that Danzig hates ‘woke bullshit’. It made my connection to these artists stronger, and I find it amusing that you Frumess despite being woke, love their music, sorta like you connected to the wrong scene lol.

I suppose you can separate the art from the artist, which is the true way to view any art....For example- I love the Captain America films, but Chris Evans himself is a total ‘progressive’ conformist woketard. And ofcourse, Misfits / Glenn music itself is apolitical.

As cheesy as it is now, it's still a great little time capsule of these excellent bands and the scene at the time. All of these films are very corny, look at Rude Boy! Beneath the Shadows is my favourite TSOL album. Also really enjoy the Joykiller.

LOVE LOVE LOVE BTS. Might be my favorite too. Truth is, I really love all of their records. But man, BTS... So glad Darker My Love made this film, because they didn't properly record it until 2005!
