Arkin, Baldwin and Pryce too.
This is a total desert-island movie for me. Truly one of the finest English-language films ever made.

" Coffee is for closers."
Lemmon's work here made me go back and see all his work.
I studied this film in college screenwriting. Fascinating.

Its one of my top films along with Down By Law and Blood Simple. Genius
Tough choosing clips from this masterpiece that don't have f-bombs.

I read that Lemon and some of the other actors referred to this screen play as, "Death of an "effen" salesman." 😄 So true.
Saw this as a play in SFO and it was just as engaging as the film. Mamet sure knows his way around biting dialogue. As Ricky Roma says, ""have you ever taken a dump that made you feel like you slept for a year"" !
One of my all time favourites
If you’ve never done sales wether professional or personal… and worked for a cut throat corporate company, you have no idea what’s going on in this scene for the end of month sales quota.. if you have, that is, worked as a professional sales person, be it Big Corporate or the fringe like MLM, then this scene is uncomfortably personal and real… fk this commentary, he’s never played the game before in his life.

I'm sure he's regretting every day.
I read that Pacino and Lemon were the first two chosen by the producers. And they actually came in and read for the other parts to be cast...unheard of for actors of that caliber to do that.

As a straight commission salesman for 30 years, I can tell you there were days I’d sit in my office crying because the rent was due the next day. These are real emotions folks.
If you've never seen this movie, do yourself a favor and watch it.
A.I.D.A.!!!!!!!
you don't censor al pacino!

I think that Baldwin stole this movie - he is so dreadful.
One of the greatest movies made in the last 50 years. And the acting? Don't go there because it is literally the best you will ever see on screen. Mamet is a genius, like Tarantino.
