One of the best Disney animator ever. This seminar really open up your mind about what animation really is. Just like Glen Keane said, that's what separate top artists animators from the ones animating on saturday tv shows. You can feel the passion, the ambition and the joy he feels about his art. Just as good as Richard Williams lectures. Thank you so much. I feel like it's Christmas day !

Wow. I can't believe I came across this so randomly. Also, I can't believe I watched the entire thing from start to finish! I mean, I don't think that anyone how aspires to have an art career would be able to STOP themselves! He touches on a lot of things that I've heard before but in such a palatable and relatable way! This makes me realize that I could use a bit more expression in my artwork and my own personal life, as well. I know the little sparks of life are where the magic in animation is but I really think I underestimate how powerful observation and awareness are when making any kind of art, really. Such an amazing video! I feel like I learned more here than all the courses I've paid for over the years. Thank you for posting!

Dude, your channel is so helpful. Do you have a discord server? With the number of subscribers at ~50K, I think it would be pretty manageable, since most people don’t really join those. I just feel like it would be a nice place for people to share animations and stuff. But! Regardless of any of that: thank you so much for uploading your content. I don’t just mean this video, I mean all the breakdowns and everything that helps demystify animating. Thank you for sharing your experience and helping so many of us!

Hello RedWolf, the animation he shows of "The Little Mermaid" was freshly done, so I'd say between 1985 and 1986! :D
What was the book that he pulled the grid with all of the gestures into? “watching man”?
@PixiGags
20 күн бұрын
Hi @DanielGargallo, the title of that book is 'Manwatching : a field guide to human behavior' by Desmond Morris. It's an awesome book, and you can read it here: archive.org/details/manwatchingfield0000morr/mode/2up
Does anyone know who the author is for Man watching (the book) Glen Keane talks about?

Glen keane never talks about Milt kahl... Why

Hello Rostand! 🙂 At that time Milt liked working with John Pomeroy, Glen was mentored by people like Eric Larson and Ollie Johnston.
@rostandhoundji6733

@@PixiGags Thanks for the information! I didn't know. Milt Kahl was really a master with the line and excellent drawing quality, kind of classissism and perfection of Animation of all time. Glen keane has a certain sense of the inner masses, and the sculptural shapes more emotional and less rational and logic like Milt. What is surprising is that milt has those emotional qualities too but not the sculptural masses (except maybe with Shere Kahn). Those guys are genius. Glen can draw good lines too with pen.
