Glen Campbell and Roger Miller - Nice Jazz Chord Voicings! - Invitation to the Blues (1973)

Музыка

Also a great impromptu fiddle solo from Roger Miller! Dang character limits! Before I start rambling let me just say, thank you to everybody who actually reads these descriptions, the amount of comments I've gotten now just being able to talk with all of you amazing people with your own stories and experiences and reasons you love this man, it's really been something special and I couldn't have asked for better uploading these little clips that I've found of Glen jamming with no backing here and there
Let me tell you, if there's one thing I can do it's URGE YOU TO WATCH THE FULL THING HERE
• THE BURT REYNOLDS LATE...
From the Burt Reynolds Late Show special held in Nashville in 1973 at the executive residence of Governor Winfield and Betty Dunn
What an absolute treat to watch, everybody has such great chemistry with each other, legends like Mel Tillis, Glen Campbell, Dolly Parton, and Burt Reynolds all in ONE ROOM, UGH, some amazing comments and stories from these guys, I could gush all day, Bobby Goldsboro closes out the show with an amazing performance. A still shackled down Dolly with Porter does a great performance of "Music Row" where she plays and sings all by herself! WHAT A TREAT MAN
The entire thing really is amazing and I haven't even mentioned GLEN, who actually gets quite a bit of attention in this, but that's just because he's swamped in other amazing talent man, I couldn't pick a favorite part, at one point Glen accompanies the Gov in a performance of Lovesick Blues which I may also upload sometime in the future that was just a blast.
Awesome to hear a younger Glen cover that song! He says he recorded it, but I don't think that version him and Burt were talking about was ever released!
Anywho, yeah, not everyday you come across something this potent with stardom, and the chemistry between them is really something else, so many laughs! I'd love if there was another one, imagine if only Jerry Reed was here! This was pre-smoky, otherwise I think he would have been there, seeing as it is a Burt Reynolds special! Jerry's a pretty huge part of those movies! Jerry is hilarious too! I can only imagine the chemistry between him, Glen, Burt, AND ROGER GOSH TALK ABOUT A COMEDIC MUSICAL POWERHOUSE MAN
I could ramble endlessly, but at the end of the day, this video only has the one performance lol, love that bit with the fiddle being out of tune and Minnie shouting, "that's my fiddle player!"
So many hilarious moments exactly like that one in the full show, and that's what I'm talking about with CHEMISTRY, it was perfect!
This could've been a re-occurring thing for sure and it would've been amazing, I wonder if it was a flop and no-one watched it though when it was actually airing, like, how did it even air!? I've certainly never heard of it, but now that I have it, I WANT MORE! Better than anything that ever came out of the Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour. It's so much more REAL I LOVE IT
Those interactions with Mel Tillis are funnier than they have any right to be.
Where's Episode 2!?!?! I NEED IT, I WANT A WHOLE SEASON
Alright. I believe I've gushed enough for any one man. Watch the full thing. It's a blast. Thank you.
Have a great day homedogs!
Full Cast: Minnie Pearl, Mel Tillis, Dinah Shore, Glen Campbell, Roger Miller, Charlie Rich, Jim Nabors, Dolly Parton, Porter Wagoner, and Bobby Goldsboro
Love to see Bobby Goldsboro in the flesh, used to really love that guy! You can see the camera pans to him for a bit as he's trying to figure out the key or something! He fits in to this group much more than I expected really! Awesome!
Sadly not everyone got their own solo spot, but a majority of them did!
Mel Tillis took the show in my opinion, such a comic.
"usually have a-uh, a, a-thirty five piece orchestra accompanying me"
What a treat it was to hear bare though with nothing but an acoustic!
Rock and Roll.
Praise Glen Campbell.
