Despite the fact that Blaine sings it I believe it’s showing Kurt’s point of view and his feelings about being in the Warblers and how he wants to go back to the New Directions as the lyrics “I am in misery” refers to the fact that he’s not entirely happy at Dalton and feels that he doesn’t belong with the Warblers and “the silence is slowly killing me” refers to the fact that he’s having to give up his individuality just to fit in, “there ain’t nobody who can comfort me” can refer to him feeling that Blaine and the Warblers don’t understand how he feels, “why won’t you answer me” can refer to him asking the New Directions to bring him back to McKinley, “so scared of breaking it” refers to the fact that he wants to express himself but is scared of being treated like an outsider and “I’m gonna get you back” shows his desire to get back to the New Directions and be himself again

i’m so fascinated by this in terms of how it functions as an actual glee club rehearsal. Was everyone legit trying to study before blaine sprung the song on them? kurt certainly seems like he was working on some actual schoolwork! is this a regular occurrence? we gonna do any vocal warm ups? no? who’s gonna clean up all those papers blaine??? is that safe to throw everywhere if we’re all gonna be dancing in a sec? do we have, like, a rehearsal room? these are legitimate questions
