@@superunknown2812 I only saw one DVD that today you can order of this film, it seems to be one of the digital copy versions posted in multiple uploads on here and that copy is not very good. I see now there is a HD version but i guess they were lucky for us all to find a proper DVD of the film.

​@@superunknown2812 If they ever do a re-release I hope they do!! Crazy that we didn't even know it existed until this year. Like I think my dad figured he'd taped over it or something?? He was so surprised when I told him it was on our home videos and even more surprised when I told him how much there was!

One of the greatest movies of all time

Gleaming the Cube is a great film. One of my favorites in the late 80s.

That hill scene is epic!! So cool to see the behind the scenes footage. A glimpse into our past! Thank you, Emma, for uploading this gem!! It took me back. What a magical time for skateboarding!

I love this movie! Used to skate from '87 to '96. I remember my first board a Vision Psycho stick.

Thanks so much for posting this Emma. Your Dad made one of the best movies of all time. Im 41 now and still love this movie as much as I did the first time I saw it. Pure magic!

This is so sick I really love this movie and thrashin also. I've watched them so much when I was having drinks after my skating day. Just such nostalgia

I grew up on this movie, 9 yrs old sitting on my board in the living room floor I wore out this VHS tape 💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🤙🏼😎🛹

This movie created many sleepovers. If it played in the morning on HBO it would play again in the afternoon. A poor mom would have 10 boards on her front porch and a bunch of animals in her house demanding Pizza Hut waiting for it to start. And don't get me started if we weren't offered the new set of Noid shades 😂

This needs to be next to Rad in the dictionary. I loved this film growing up and am still incredibly fond of it and those memories as an adult. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

This was probably one of my favorite movies growing up and still is. I can still remember all the great lines in this movie. I want 50 thousand dollars and a plane ticket to Bangkok and the skateboard stays in the garage. I love the song at the end by Billy Bush brothers to brother

This is the coolest shit I've seen this year. And I've just finished watching this year's Vert Alert. Edit: The closeup of Tony in the truck is the thing I remember the most from watching this movie when I was younger. That and I always wondered why the Brian's a "fuck up" lines were changed to "screw up". I guess to get a PG-13 rating?

Man I want to be part of the whole movie making experience.. I dream about everyday

You’re correct- I put 89 as the movie release year but it probably would have made more sense to do the year it was filmed UPDATE: I somehow didn't realize you could edit video titles after upload bc I barely post on here lol but I've now changed the title to reflect the year it was shot. Thanks for pointing it out, good call!

Can anyone involved in the production of this film confirm if tony's pizza hut truck and it's red-roof attachment were made up for the film, or if that's really how PH delivery trucks were at the time?

They drove their personal vehicle back then just as now. Most places didn't offer delivery.

Just for historical context it would be nice to get some approximate dates in 1988 of this- the 1989 in your title could imply when this was filmed or the films release year (which is indeed Jan. 1989).

The way our home movies got digitized the dates were often wrong or missing so I just put the release year, but this must have been 1988!

I think Gator was the other stunt double in the motor cycle chase, aside from Stacy peralta..some skaters on the credirs are on the downhill scene
