Glazing and chatting in the studio with Nigel
Nigel Saunders from the Bonsai Zone came to glaze his miniature pot collection and decide whether or not to glaze his amazing dragon pot. I have decided to put oxides on my free form pot. Join us in for a creative spin of ideas and inspiration, excitement of the glazing process and storytelling while we chat and glaze. See behind the scene of clay making process, which takes lots of time and dedication. While we're waiting for the kiln to cool off, let's enjoy some footage from the glazing session. At the end, get a little sneak peak into Nigel's thoughts about what tree might go into the pot!
* please excuse the background noise as we are in the middle of the renovations and my son practices piano at home, we are real people living our lives and sharing on youtube

thank you for watching!
Nigel you da man.
Two pros working together with some cool colors on the pots. That big one with the black highlights the rough surfaces. The little pots have some nice colors. Dragon pot is real cool. Year of the dragon.

Sir Nigel, ever the rebel...Gets told to put on gloves, and acts like he never heard you!!! I enjoy being that way myself!!!😋

hehe, of course you picked up on this Dante! I was chuckling myself when I was editing. I actually did ask him once more and he refused, classic rebel. I kinda feel like I was being too bossy but it always happens to me for some reason!
And then the slow burn 🔥 Looked like a fun afternoon, appreciate you sharing, sister.

yes, very slow and even slower cooling. You are very welcome, brother, glad you enjoyed it
Since the Fukien Tea comes from the southeast portion of China, that might make a nice bonsai tree in the Dragon Pot. Just a thought.
Despite the noise from the power tools I enjoyed this very much. Also the smalltalk, that is very casual I must say. I mean can't imagine I would be so relaxed in front of camera. Art and handicraft is always nice to watch in the industrial world we live in where most stuff are made in China lol. Cheers from Sweden.

@Tybold63 glad you enjoyed and the noise was not too bad, it's funny how the mics pick it up so loudly. Nigel is a pro, and I am learning to relax more too, used to be very stressed when on camera at first but the more you do it, the easier it gets
Will glazed pots last underwater, like in an aquarium?

they can be underwater, but the portion of the pot is unglazed- the bottom portion
