I love the fact that you may be one of the few who doesn't just throw handfuls of salt at everything like what is so common with most cooking videos. And also the fact that you apply just enough seasoning, rub, or galze to add flavor to your food, not make so heavy as to overpower it. Good stuff, Johnny. Your food always looks great. Never overseasoned or overcomplicated. I've got to try this one for sure, It looks absolutely fantastic.

Hello BL, I try to not get too crazy with seasoning. I watch other folks add 2 or 3 layers of seasoning to thier food and it always wonder how the heck can they taste the protein after that. Take care!

I love that you still have a weber kettle best grill ever made so much better than a pellet smoker I like it fiddle with it and get it right

I use my Weber kettle more than the pellet because I grill a lot. The new Searwood does grill well for a pellet grill but not as good as direct heat over coals.

I know it can be a combersome pain in the ass at times, but I've used the warming rack that comes with the Mastertouch directly over the hot side of the grill to sear things. It just adds a little distance between the flames and the food and helps give a little more control. Just a friendly tip.

Just found this channel getting ready for my cookout on the 4th and I just want to say it's fantastic. My grill is horrible cheap crap but with your advice (and a few other channels) I managed to cook up some beautiful brats, burgers, corn... I even smoked some homemade baked beans! Count me as a view on every video you release from here on out.

Hey Johnny, did you place anything under the chicken rack on the cool side to prevent anything from dripping down? It didn't appear so, but just wanted to ask. Another nice vid - we appreciate!

am i missing where you post the recipe for the glaze? I don't see a comment or in the description how much is used? i.e. brown sugar etc

For the sauce I did not take any measurements for most of the ingredients. But it was an 18 ounce bottle of barbecue sauce about half a cup of brown sugar, the juice of one lemon, 3 tablespoons of honey, a sprinkling of red pepper flake, half of a 12 ounce beer, and then a few stems thyme. And really those are my best guesstimates.

@@ViewtoagrillI’m going to attempt this tomorrow but using the Weber searwood. How would you change it for this since there is no indirect side? Sear first or reverse? And then what temp for the rest of the cook? I wonder how to get the glaze to caramelize since the searwood can’t do a hot indirect side. Maybe top rack? Sorry for all the questions but I’m really looking forward to this and it’s first cook on my new searwood.

Set the Searwood for 375. Pull the chicken breast off at 160 carry over temp will take it to 165. Once you pull the chicken breast off check the temp on the thighs. If the thighs are at least 165 start glazing. Use the same time intervals.
