Glastonbury Tor Walk | Town to Tor| Somerset
In this video I will show you how to walk from Glastonbury High Street up to Glastonbury Tor and back via a different route.
I hope you enjoy the peace and calm in this video with lots of sounds of nature.
In it I mentioned the bus which runs from the town to the Tor.
I said that I would give you details of the bus.
For details visit mendipcommunitytransport.co.uk and choose Glastonbury Tor bus from their menu.

Thank you! That sounds wonderful! I hope you have a really special time.
Lovely walk Louise - Glastonbury is such a unique town so I can’t wait to see your return. I would love to walk up the tor one day - not sure I’ll be able to drag my daughter on that walk lol. But great to see it at least in your video. There is also an amazing photographer in Glastonbury who takes landscape photos of the tor and it’s surroundings . There is a gallery in town too (not sure if it’s the same person) . I’ll tag you next time I see a photo appear on Facebook!

Thank you Alex! That will be fantastic if you can tag me next time you see a post from that photographer on Facebook. The gallery sounds brilliant- thanks for the recommendation. Haha, I can empathise with how your daughter might feel about doing that steep walk. I would have been the same. I grew into liking these things more as I became an oldie!
Thanks for managing to fit the walk in around your work commitments. Didn't realise it was so high up. Lovely views of the ruins. 😊

Thank you Caroline! Yes, work called while I was on the bus on route there but I did not mind. It means I get to go back again to film more 🤗 The ruins are lovely and even though it was busy ish there was a really calm feeling up there.
Ah, that was wonderful.. you couldn’t have picked a better day for a walk up to the Tor… it’s been many decades since I last visited and it was long before I had any sort of camera so this has whetted my desire to return although that will be long after my operation.. love the story about the cave under the Tor too… lovely video and I hope you made it to work in time 👍🏻

Thank you! Pleased you enjoyed it! Yes, I made it to work in time. The bus ran to schedule. It was a really lovely journey through a lot of countryside. I hope you manage to get a chance to do the walk some time!
Loved hearing about the Tor and seeing the great VIEWS!!! Great video 💗

Thank you 🤗
One of the (very many) places in our area that I have never been too - just a school trip to see the abbey ruins - and that was it! Thanks for showing me around Louise. It is brilliant that the £2 bus promotion is still on. Another great video 👍You captured some lovely shots there. Take care, Paul 🙂

Thanks so much Paul! I think there will be several more videos from the area as its so steeped in history and traditon. I love the £2 bus fare! I am going to use it as much as I can before it finishes some time in June I think.
Fanatastic filming and views on a beautiful Spring day. We went as a family years ago and took the little bus to the bottom of the hill. What a work out for you and all those visitors! 😊🥵

Thank you Cathy! It was a workout for sure. Stopping to take photos and enjoy the scenery made it a really pleasurable one too.
Welcome to the neighbourhood 😊 the Tor is a lovely. I admit, to my shame 😢, that it's been many a year since I walked up it.

I went up the Tor a couple of weeks ago and it was a lovely sunny day, just like yours. The views are fantastic and as a bonus you get a great workout walking up. 😃

Thanks Dave! Great to hear you had a sunny day for it too! I have done it in howling wind which is really refreshing but the sunshine and lack of much breeze made it feel particularly calm and special up there! Haha! Yes, that’s a great bonus!! A free workout for sure!
Such gorgeous weather for your walk Louise.

It was!! I was so lucky with the weather. Always good when the sun shines on a day set aside for making videos.
Yay I just subscribed and your next walk turns out to be my town! Glad you visited on a sunny day. Thanks for highlighting our special town.

Thank you Faith!! It was a lovely one to film! It really was the perfect day. Very little wind and bright sunshine! I got to work on time thank you and the journey home was very scenic.
Really enjoyed this Louise, it looks like a really lovely walk. I've only ever seen it from a distance when visiting the abbey but always wondered what the views looked like and oh boy, it looks like they are worth the steep walk and all those steps! I love the £2 single bus promotion at the moment (Bristol has been running it for longer than the national programme so been enjoying it for a while (£2 single to Weston from Bristol for the win hehe). 😁

Thanks Jesse!! That’s great that you have been able to make even more use of the £2 single tickets! I really want to make much more use of it before it finishes! Yes, definitely worth the steep walk up there for those views! There were a few local people up there enjoying it too, reading books, walking dogs, sitting in the sun etc. it’s gorgeous! I have been to the abbey but not for the channel so looking forward to going there. I thin I noticed Mendip Explorer buses there which went to Bristol. I guess it would be £2 to and from Bristol at the moment too.
I found it harder coming down than going up. The path can get very slippery on wet days. Fantastic views though and a good cardio workout

Oh crumbs… I can imagine how slippery it must get. Eek! Yes, fantastic views! Definitely a good cardio work out too.
I really want to hike to the Tor! We passed through Glastonbury last year but didn't have time (story of my life!!) to hike to the Tor. Not sure I can get to Somerset this summer, but we shall see!!
