What's up Rumblin? I bought this Bass literally on sight! After being called an upgraded Glarry! I had to have one! I swear I didn't see any reviews on it before I purchased it. Yours is the first! A great and completely informative review! Thanks bro! You've confirmed everything about this Bass! Perfect!

You are the man, Earl! Thanks so much for the kind words!! I'm glad my review was the first to come up. I tried to do it justice the best I could. I'd love to see your review of it too. The bass is heavy... it's a beastly build... but has some redeeming qualities. I'm keeping it! May do some upgrades down the road!

@@RumblinMan and it’s nice to find a fantastic deal. I’ve had this bass and a Squier affinity pj and this is better for less money specifically the GJazz II. I’m sanding the neck and headstock and fretboard to stain and refinish and just gonna do some aluminum foil shielding under the pickguard and I think I will love it forever!

God Bless you Rumblin Man for giving us another great and insightful review. And for being honest and transparent on your reaching out to Glarry, while maintaining an unbiased and fair review. These basses symbolise exceptional value. I have to ask, are those Wilkinson pickups suited to rock/hard rock?

These can be found for less than a $100 on eBone these days, but you have to admit they're sloppily put together. The Wilkinsons are alnico and wax potted and not at all bad (I made a pair of great double jazz humbuckers out of spares I pulled.) Bridges need to go, control route needs shielding, p'ups too if you want to reduce noise to minimum. It's a weird decision to put a fat PBass neck on a jazz tho, and a bad decision to leave the fingerboard unfinished. They're Cort necks. I work these and bring them up to easily playable but if I were buying a budget bass for a kid or I relied on a luthier I'd choose something much closer to finished and more closely spec'd to an actual Jazz.

Yeah, all very good points here. I still have this bass but in pieces. Planning to salvage the pickups for another bass. While I was enthusiastic about Glarry making something a little better, there are still some big problems with this bass.

@@RumblinMan They're great for teaching yourself luthier skills but you're right they come with built in struggles. Look at the grain structure on the maple necks and finger boards-- it looks they're likely made from large branches, not the tree trunk. I take almost 1/8" off the back and reshape them and they stay straight but over time I'm sure the necks will become unstable. Out of 3 I have 2 that have 2 sets of bridge screw holes drilled (each) and 3 of 3 had bridges out of center. So, if you want to learn how to overdrill and fill misaligned holes with hardwood dowel and set a bridge from scratch all of mine are great! 😆 The sunburst I most recently bought got a Chender bound rosewood block inlay $70 jazz neck which was heavenly compared to the maple Pbass neck, even with the fret level it needed. Red tortie pickguard and it looks a lot like a '67. I knew what I was potentially getting into tho and the first 2 kept me occupied during lockdowns, which was the plan! I also learned I have no idea how to paint a guitar lol

Even though I bought a Squire Affinity Jazz in February and finally got it adjusted and the neck sanded to how I like it I think I’m going to get one of these as well or maybe the Pbass . How was the neck and string height / intonation out of the box? Did you have to adjust it much? My Squire was horrible out of the box.
