If you actually want to know, I'm pretty sure he's supposed to be Macrinus. Who was of Berber descent. So you could have some wiggle room in his depiction as they can be either very fair skinned or very dark.

Maybe it should have another title.

I now get to watch one if the greatest directors of my childhood destroy everything he once made great. Last one left is legend . I can't wait for darkness rolling thorugh his lair in a wheel chair.

Now I want Titanic 2, Jack comes back as Gilbert Grape from all that freezin water giving him brain damage only to find Rose with a black man (Samuel L Jackson).

I always felt if they were going to do another Gladiator movie, it should've been a prequel about Proximo (Oliver Reed's character). I feel there's a lot of potential with that character and he would've been a better protagonist than Lucius. They could even bring in Joaquin Phoenix to play a younger version of Marcus Aurelius.

The only sequel to Gladiator that exists to me is the one Nick Cave wrote. Google the screenplay. It’s awesome.
