A wise woman once told me the key to a healthy relationship is: 1. God centered 2. Trust 3. Communication 4. Compromise (laying one’s self for the other)

Some of Taylor's responses to Ashley's advice has just been so relatable, like how she thought she was communicating well and then still expected the other person to read her mind, or being impatient during the friend stage of a relationship :)

That point about risk really hits home. I’ve pondered that question of “Is the risk worth it?” I’m also in that awkward friendship stage, but I’ve found that I can’t let fear take over my friendships in general. God had to show me that life is not without risk. If I never take risk, I will not get anywhere, and even a relationship with the right guy will involve risk. Thanks so much for sharing! This was a really helpful video❤️

12 years of marriage here and the things I’ve learned so far are: 1. He is God’s son so instead of trying to fix him go to God with your grievances and trust me God will often show you yourself (or maybe that’s just me lol) 2. Invest in your time with God because you will need Him… A lot lol. 3. Have fun! Never stop having fun. 4. Use I statements instead of you statements (for example instead of you are getting on my nerves say I am really struggling with hearing you clearly can we pause this conversation so I can work through my anxiety?)

I have been married 13 years and for both men and women the advice is the same - a little patience and understanding go a long way. Communicate often and don’t let that person forget that they’re loved. And any men that subscribe - the answer to everything is this simple phrase - “Yes, honey, you’re absolutely right.” Memorize that and you will never fail 😂😂😂

Here's another thought to add to your wonderful advice: pay attention to your patterns, especially with broken relationships and regrettable decisions. We all have them and if you step back and fill in these blanks, you can see how you may be swirling in patterns that are apart from God's best for you. Here's an example from my life: I'm lonely->I look for a guy to pay attention to me->I do whatever it takes to attract him (good and bad things)->we have a relationship->now that we're together, I start criticizing his flaws and build up reasons he's not right for me->I break up->I'm lonely....(and so the pattern repeated for years). So, what's important about noticing this? I realized I didn't have a clear picture of what was important for me in men so I kept making poor connections, which reinforced my loneliness and desperation. After years of torturing myself and some really nice guys, I finally sat down, created a list of "My Ideal Mate" and prayed it to God that He would approve, correct it and hold me accountable to wait, if and until He provided someone that met God's criteria. Hope this isn't too long or confusing. I'm much older than you all are, but I sincerely appreciate your wisdom and hearts for Jesus.

I love this! All of these tips have tremendous wisdom behind them and I think are so important when cultivating a meaningful relationship. Sometimes, we as believers can put so much pressure on single folks to get married, but it truly does happen in God's own time. When we learn to truly be able to stand on our own with Christ is when I think we know we're ready to be in a relationship.

He says he’s going to get up front and say “now that I know all about marriage :-) I’ll be celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary with my honey this June, and believe me, I am still learning. It’s been the joy of my life, but i’m still working on my PhD in Jeanne studies (that is my wife’s name) By the way, as I speak this, I am sipping white gull inn private blend door county coffee, mmmm!

Taylor's point Christian culture of dating for marriage is so true. Like honestly, it's sounds too serious to think or even speak of marriage when deciding or starting to date someone. Can someone can enlighten me on this?

  • @cafecombaunilha

one very good advice i’ve received was: dating is always meant to be over. it always has an expiring date. why? because it can either lead to marriage or to breakup. so, with that in mind, be intentional about who you decide to date, because yeah, he/she should be what you would like to have as a husband/wife. the time span you will spend dating, however, should be spent as such, so be boyfriend and girlfriend, get to know each other deeply and within the boundaries the bible has set for us (it never mentions dating, of course, but we do know that some things can only happen between a married couple). during that time, you will be able to decide if the relationship has a future as marriage or not. we have to be intentional about all things, so dating should fall into that as well, is what i’m trying to say with too many words (sorry!)

  • @celine1196

@@cafecombaunilha wow thanks for this Daniella! It does give me a clearer pic of being intentional in dating because that person should look like my future husband. Whether or not we match, depends on learning about each other during the dating process ✨

I didn't ask alot of questions. It's to late now because we're marry 👰 now. We don't believe in divorce. We want to do exactly what GOD wants and GOD doesn't like DIVORCE. What are your thoughts on physical boundaries? Frontal hugs, kissing, etc.? (If you don't mind answering, of course.) I'm currently talking with someone right now that I'm starting to really like, and we have both told each other how we feel. We don't want to rush, we want to give it time for things to sit with us, and all that. I want to "set boundaries," if that make sense. Make it clear what I am and am not okay with, and to understand what he is and is not okay with. I'd just like to hear from you, or anyone else reading this, their thoughts on that, as well as advice for keeping God involved. :) Thanks!!

My husband and I when we were dating we had to set a ton of boundaries because we were very attracted to one another and we were not virgins when we got in a relationship so we had to be very careful because we desired to keep our relationship pure before God. So we didn’t do anything long and lingering. No long and lingering hugs, no lip kisses, and a curfew for how late we would hang out. I know you were not asking me but I hope that this helps a bit.

  • @apracity7672

    @apracity7672

Obviously, anything explicitly sexual is off the table (sex related stuff). However, for other things (like frontal hugs), that depends entirely on both you and him. For instance, if the feeling of breasts pressed upon another body can invoke lust and sensuality and sexual thoughts, that should be off the table. Paul tells us to flee from sexual immorality. Kissing can be done to show affection and love for another person without it being sexual (again, it all depends on the person and the type of kissing). The question shouldnt be "how close can I get to the line without crossing over", it should be "how can I be im this relationship and honor God". Its always better to be conservative and have more boundaries than needed, lest someome falls into temptation and stumbles into sin. Hope this helps

Thanx for really great advice. I can really relate to the face where you are talking, but you feel scared to not put a dating lable on it. What would you say is a reasonable amount of time to just talk with a friend before going into dating, and what time when dating before going official in a realtionship? I felt so rushed to have it secured in a previouse dating realtionship that we ended up taking a step back from everything insted of moving slow. He suggested slow, but I was more in the state of, - I have no time to wait around...". How do you know when it is wise to be patient and wait for something official in a dating realtionship? Please help a sister out! Hugs from Sweden!

I guess people who've known the channel for a ages see this KZreadr as a teacher/guru & have established a trust bond maybe follow off platform too but I'd say I hardly her & every video is 'giving advice, advice for you, what to do for your season, what this Psalm is saying' & it can just seem very... pressured & assuming. I thought this was a vlogger like Kian when I joined but nope! Maybe if I'd known her longer or I was younger it'd seem more sincere & be make more sense but there's no trust here in the content for me to be taking advice from a stranger.

Shouldn’t single people be living their lives in freedom and use their time to expand and steward whatever God has given them to steward? Also expanding in their own passions and hobbies. Get new passions and new skills. Singlesness shouldn’t be dreaded. It’s not a curse. And marriage isn’t easy. But marriage should also not be dreaded. It is also not a curse. You’ll never get this much freedom and time ever again after you’re not single anymore. You should use singleness to your advantage and do all the things you’ve ever wanted to do. You’ll never have this much freedom ever again. Use it!
