Love my old Osprey pack! It was an hand-me-down that I started with, and it's an old school 70L Aether I believe. They may not be true ultralight, but they're so durable like you mentioned. What is my favorite gear? A few years back I got my first pair of Scarpa boots. I had always worn Vasque boots before, but when Vasque moved production to China, they no longer fit properly and I tried Scarpas. What amazing boots, right out of the box I can put them on and hike blister free. Vasque were good but always required a break in period. Hiking, backpacking or just walking around town, I love Scarpa boots.

Congrats on 2000! My favorite piece of backpacking gear is my tried and true Sierra Designs tent that I bought back in 2011. It’s been through probably 365 nights of use and the only issue has been a splintered pole. Have had multiple other tents since, but always pull that one out when I’m alone at a campground or on a backpacking trip with my partner. Of course that makes Sierra Designs my favorite company. Followed by Salomon for their bulletproof hiking boots.

my favourite gear is my Smartwool socks (hope those can be considered gear?) I have many different pairs of them, they are super duper comfortable, and so breathable. It's great that they don't necessarily have to be washed after every wear (don't worry I don't wear moldy socks for a week straight lol)

Absolutely they can! Marino Wool socks can make all the difference on a trip in my opinion. Once I started wearing them by blisters vanished (for the most part). For utility, it would be a Spyderco knife. I like the Delica 4. It is super lightweight and can tackle most of my needs on the trail. If you asked me my favorite “defense” tool. Not necessarily a backpacking specific item but the one thing that I will forever take with me is my drone. I started backpacking with the DJI Mini 2 last year after a decade of dreaming of taking a drone backpacking. The amount of happiness I find where nature and creativity collide is only rivaled by seeing it all in person first hand. As a hobby creator I will always admire the hard work it takes for digital creators to grow their pages like you have. This channel is a hidden gem so I'm happy to see it gain a foothold!
