Plucking takes some effort, but it is soo much better than the waste you get if you just "breast" your birds! Thanks for a great video.

The only time I had the opportunity to go out for dove, no one was willing to show me how to do this. They took the head then ripped the breasts out and tossed the carcasses in a pile that they left. I found it distasteful and couldn't bring myself to eat it. Thanks for showing me a more respectful way to handle game birds.

Wow, we are so sorry to hear that you had an experience like that. We're glad you found our content helpful! Also, if you check out Michael's recipe on Spanish Dove, he recommends making a broth out of all the carcasses left over at the end of the meal. That would be a great way for you to get full use out of your doves, too, instead of leaving them in the field like the folks you mentioned! :)
