There will be very few, if any, road cyclists visiting Girona who don't enjoy immensely climbing Els Angels from the Girona side. There's so much to love about this climb - it's right on Girona's doorstep and is an ideal leg-stretcher on arrival. It's really two short climbs, separated by a flat section, so it's not a killer slog. And the views from the magnificent sanctuary at the top are commanding - with the (often) snow-capped Pyrenees to one side and the Costa Brava coast to the other. The wonderful Can Pol makes a great coffee or lunch stop (check for opening times) and getting over the top of Els Angels opens up a wealth of other route choices. It's a climb absolutely loved by the locals and if you're a cyclist in Girona it's a complete must do.
