For someone not intimately familiar with girls national level DMR this is almost meaningless. I know no more about the emerging stars of high school track than I did before I watched the race. I enjoy watching a race, but it would be nice to at least have a basic awareness of who was in the race, where they come from (especially since there didn't seem to be any high schools represented) and what they accomplished. Some of us, when we find out that so and so was recruited by NC State, or New Mexico, or Colorado, or wherever, enjoy going back over the signal races from one, two or three years back, to study the development of these girls, changing into women. That's where we learn who may be able to sustain and build on their high school success like Kelsey Chmiel or Katelyn Tuohy; and who was battling them hammer and tongs for years, who may not be managing the transition to college as successfully.
