And in mystical movie logic, the box would manipulate things to remove that tape/note. Seriously, the mystical movie bs has the box see that it ends up in the hands of the daugther of a previous victim. That alone implied the box has a sense of awareness and control of itself. Or... people would read it, laugh and feel challenged to use it to prove to their peers that they arent afraid of it, or make a joke of it.

even if she was bullied, she let the popularity and fame get to her head which completely changed her, she forgot what ryan said about it killed people and she still went ahead and made her last 2 wish. she is selfish and is the only villain in the story. there are others ways of dealing with bullies and what did got in the end was karma @@Arctanis-vt3hl

I love how even after knowing that the box takes a life every time she grants a wish, she not only lies about having recently made a wish, but proceeds to make another one not long after.

The temptation of such power can be immense. Even when we know it can harm or kill others, it can still be attractive to utilize it. It's like the One Ring in Tolkien. Everyone thinks they can use it and handle it, but it is the one that uses you and handles you. It must be destroyed, not kept.

That box should be in Supernatural. Another Cursed Item that needs to be locked up and never be released.

Gotta love the classic genie thing. You get 7 wishes, you can easily sacrifice one to say "I wish there were no downsides" or "make my wishes come true exactly as I intend them". With 6 free wishes, you could get absolutely anything you desire, guilt-free. Wishes of that kind are never indicated that they can't be done by the rules, so why not start with that?

I, too, have thought the same thing that the OP said- why not make your dirst wish something like, "I wish that the one who grants these wishes would have the wisdom, common sense, and discernment to grant these wishes in a way that would be totally beneficial to the one making the wish without negative consequences." But even then, I suspect you would be right. There would be some way in which even that kind of wish would turn around and have a bad twist to it. It seems like the common thread among all these storues of gaining wishes is the same- there will ALWAYS be consequences. To the best of my meager knowledge, I have never heard a story like this that did NOT have bad consequences to the wishes. And honestly, I can see why.

Since it seems that the box's power to grant wishes is unlimited, just do this: first, wish "I wish that all wishes fulfilled with this box will not have any negative repercussions, and that this box will not kill or hurt anyone physically or psychologically, directly or indirectly" and then wish for infinite wishes.

I remember watching the trailer for this movie and being super creeped out. The thought of rotting alive is just horrifying. The movie itself was okay, but they really should've made a different ending.

Ending is perfect. The last wish takes the life of the owner. She erases the timeline and brings all victims to life. But she has to pay with her life. Ironically enough, if it wasn't her 7th wish, but any of the previous wishes, then she would have succeeded with no harm. (She can then choose to throw away the box with no ill effects, as she had not made any previous wishes in that timeline that could disappear)

@@StevenMcSteve Ya, that makes more sense.. If it wasn't her last wish, the box would have still forced her make more wishes, or revert back to the original timeline. But it was her 7th wish, so the new timeline stuck.. Deleting the timeline means bringing her back to life with no more wishes to spare.. And the box will never do that.

"I wish this box never existed." Boom, curse defeated. Of course you may never be born or something but hey, you defeated evil.

It's basically 4 free wishes if you play your cards right. Your 5th wish needs to be to gain the power to destroy any object and your 6th wish should be to bring anyone back to life the box killed and afterwards you destroy the box.

The saddest part about this story is that it took the girl that long to actually notice and accept the box's dangers. If she'd made that final wish as her 6th, it probably would have worked out. (For her, at least. Why she gave it to Ryan is beyond me.)

wish that that the box no longer claim lives but 1 limb part out of 5 ppl instead(to keep demon satisfy)...pretty sure it would not grant any wish without a blood payment so should at least alter the wishes payment method.....wish 2: wish for those wishes to be permanent(so if box is taken away it can't come undone)....wishes 3-5 pick wtv, wishes 6 restore limbs lost of all affected persons...dont do wish no 7...while wish no 6 going to take 5 limbs away it would restore 25 back.....that seem to be the smartest way to get wishes out of that box without too much negative return...the cost and wish fading if box is taken away are awful so may as well wish to alter these functions XD

I was on my tip toe to watch this movie so I finally watched it 😂

She was neither careful nor safe.

In a way, the mother won. Her suicide unhappened and she got like a 2 for 1 on replacement kids. And they are younger too, so there is plenty of time to prevent them from becoming supernatural serial killers. Meanwhile the kid who gets the box in the end, is in for a lifetime of relationship issues. At first, this movie almost seemed like the monkey's paw but then it was like "I f*ing told you what I was going to do," signed, A Demonic Entity.

What a horrifying ending Asked a guy out and then gets killed by the person she hates most

She made some pretty stupid wishes too. Like to counteract the genie dilemma, you have to be absolutely precise with your wishes down to the last minute details. Like you could wish that box won't kill anyone for every wish you made. Or after making the 5th wish, you can wish the box will never be used by anyone ever and never found by anyone ever again and it shall remained locked and sealed in a vault only you can open. Therefore you saved yourself from the 6th and 7th wishes which must only be used for extreme reasons only because you'll die as well. Better be worth it.

Ending was fr fucked up, if she would've done some more research upon getting the box to see what it was, she would've caused less chaos. Ofc greed always takes over and makes you think differently.
