Just because he has not overwhelming punches or kicks Petrosyan is one of the most studied fighters by all other MMA fighters. Because he knows what to do, how not getting hit, and most of all, he can change the fight momentum in the moment he wants, he always forces his opponent to do a game they don't like. Somehow, he reminds me of mr perfect Hoost, he was another one who always knew what to do.

Petrosyan, lives in Italy, trains in Italy, has Italian trainers, speaks Italian, managed by Italians, if you look start of the video Giorgio name has the Italian flag next to him name. He may of be born Armenian, but it is safe to say he represents Italy.

Ouch. That was a technical beating. Petrosyan is outstanding on just about every level. He is proof that power is overrated when somebody uses their intelligence and efficiency.

I have literally watched this fight 50 times now. Every time im stunned and shocked. Its unbelievable, how is it possible to be that good? I cant imagine how anyone could have so sharp intelligence and focus while under so much pressure..

I think Ristie was just a stylistic nightmare for Petrosyan. Petrosyan is a lot more technically sound than Ristie, but Ristie is young, long, strong and awkward to deal with. Petrosyan is the man, though. One of the greats and always will be.

Giorgio was winning up until the KO. He broke his hand in the first round, but was still controlling the pace, out-striking Ristie, and up until the KO he was avoiding major damage. He just got hit with a shot he didn't see coming. It happens. It does nothing to tarnish his legacy as an all-time great.

Probably, the cut under Souwer's eye was painful, and he was tired, but Giorgio HAS A BROKEN HAND in this fight… He broke his hand in the match you mentioned, against the Japanese Yuya Yamamoto. This injury caused his forfait against Masato. In fact Petrosyan was replaced by Souwer in the last Masato's match. I hope I've explained well, my English is not very good.

are you serious? Marciano was a Mafia controlled cash cow so to speak all of his opponents where mainly NYC taxi cab drivers or bums off the street and his best wins were over two old ex champions that their ring walk included escorts via wheelchair Marciano was just that eras super over hype

did you saw both fights?? do you still think that trully buakaw lost against souwer and petrosyan? i think that the judges were not being very fair

@Blahb27 well about the fight in 2005 i would agree with that and your main points are correct but one question HAVE YOU ACTUALLY SEEN THE FIGHT SOUWER VS BUAKAW in 2009 cause if you have, and if you believe souwer actually won than you have no idea of counting points whatsoever souwer got one round and even that was more likely a draw and that was the 4th buakaw won all three rounds

As a lefty fighter.. I do admit lefty fighters have their advantage. righty fighters have to study and adapt to the lefties, whereas the lefties need much less time to adapt to the righties.
