At 6, the first artists I listened to were Herb Albert, Brazill 66, Glen Campbell, and Tom Jones. Then the Carpenters, and Burt Bacharach . I later fell in love with Beach Boys when introduced to them late, at 14 in 75'. In 78-79 high school, heard Gino's hits and loved him and voice, but never heard more than the 3 hits. But had no idea how talented he actually was. Had an aunt who was a big band singer in the 40's, like Gino's dad. Fell in love with Brazilian pop jazz in the 90's hearing Basia, realized Lani Hall (Brazil 66) was who taught me to sing as a child. But singing along with Gino, is so enjoyable, and exhilarating, challenging. I'm so glad Gino didn't get overwhelmed with LA and the worldly stardom worship, God saved him from it. Instead has fans who truly appreciate his ability, all over the world. What more could a human ask for?

Great interview. Richard did a great job, asked the perfect questions. Gino is a class act yet humble and gracious. I can appreciate his music even more in my later years....about the same age.

True with the exception of one community: African Americans love Gino. Chaka Khan’s former musical director Howard McCreary told me that Gino’s in the 70’s was the greatest music ever done. I think he knows what he’s talking about.

@@lesliehill332 I think he's too hip for some people. He walked away from the pop music machine, and didn't tour for 12 years, even though he still made records. He is one of the best voices on Earth, and his songwriting talent is genius.
