I'm reading his biography at the moment, "Road to Valour" by Aili McConnon & Andres McConnon. Very well written, an enjoyable and well researched read if anybody's interested in learning more about the man.😊

It's not just Gino Bartali who deserves recognition but the whole of the Assisi Network for their tireless work

Hero is so overused but Gino Bartali is a true hero and an incredible human being.

The reason why Hollywood has yet to make a movie about this man's life is that it is too dramatic to be believable.

We talk about the years Coppi lost to WW2, and it’s true. But he lost his early 20s. Bartali lost his late 20s. And still won 3 Giri, 2 Tours and 7 monuments. As a smoker!
