Gimp: Text portrait with displacement map. Easy to follow, step by step tutorial. Enjoy!
Gimp 2.8.22 standard - Windows 10
NOTE FOR GIMP 2.10 USERS: 1- Make the text size about 20. 2- Make the gaussian blur about 3 or 4. 2- The displace filter: click on Aux output 2 and double click the b&w girl image. Make the horizontal and the vertical displace about 20.

Wondering what displacement settings you’d use with the newer Gimp? I didn’t have the same value options with sliders, nor was there a smear option. Also, any text recommendations? Thanks you very much for a clearly presented tutorial.

Nice work. Still getting used to gimp. Just wondered where do i find the legacy blur?

Thanks, stumpyjut! I've checked it out and they have removed the blur and displacement legacy options from the latest version of Gimp. 😕 What values did you use on the displacement filter? It looks like mine does not work at all anymore. Version 2.10.4... Thank you for the input. 👍 Regards, Jan.

gimp workshop to be honest i cant remember. Just increased it i think until i felt it matched the best. I think it was around 50? I used it to create my twitch offline banner www.twitch.tv/stumpyjut ive found using the gaus blur 1.5 is roughly coming out as the same results as 10 in ur videos

Очень интересный урок. Но хорошо бы сделать хотя бы какую-то возможность воспринимать его "русскоязычной " аудитории. Видео идет очень быстро, тем более на англо-язычной версии Gimp ..... А урок очень интересный! Спасибо!

I am sorry for my late respons 😕. Something went wrong. Click on settings, subtitles, auto-translate and choose the language of your choise. Прошу прощения за мой поздний ответ. Что-то пошло не так. Нажмите на настройки, субтитры, автоперевод и выберите язык по вашему выбору.
